HELP!!!!

Hey y’all, hope someone here might have had the same issue. I’m at a loss. Background of my camaro. Basic bolt ons. Kooks long tubes, no cats, cold air intake, Texas speed 231/236 112 LSA cam, ZL1 oil pump, upgraded springs with titanium retainers, upgraded trunioun kit for rockers and a dyno tune. Not sure if I’m missing anything else. I’m at 75k miles. Just did a fresh oil change with royal purple 5w-30. Anyways the other day I got into my car and started hearing this obnoxious chirping sound. First thing I did was take the belts off to see if it was either the belt or pulleys. Noise continued so that eliminated that. I am a mechanic and have been working on cars for a long time. This has me stumped. Any possible leads on what to check would be appreciated! Or if anyone has had a similar thing happen to them. Any and all info on where to look or check would be great! Oh and it’s an LS3 6speed
Thanks for the help!

lifter roller seized can cause a chirp. excess pressure in the PCV can cause a chirp and a leak at the crank and rear main seals. clutch in makes noise and clutch out in neutral makes noise? If that makes a difference could be in the trans or pilot bushing. Break out the stethoscope and see if you can find a general area.

OK, checked belts. Did you check all the pulleys while the belt was off? Sounds like maybe a dry bearing. I'de also check a/c pulley and alternator as well.

I’ve heard of a few people have weird engine sounds using royal purple, maybe try changing the oil and filter and see from there.

I thought maybe the throw out bearing but wether I press the clutch in or out in gear or out of gear the noise stays. I have a catch can on by passing the pcv system. That’s on my list I was trying to find a stethoscope to borrow from someone before I bought one. I did the screwdriver trick but that only works so well.

Well I took the belts off completely and started the car and the noise stayed. So that eliminates any pulley or belt issue.

I thought maybe vacuum leak but typically with a leak you’d have some type of change in the way the engine runs. So far everything seems to be running the same just this weird annoying noise.

Why now would I be getting a noise from using this oil and never before?

That would depend. If the leak is small enough, the car can adapt say for instance through long term fuel trims. I've found vacuum leaks before using propane (unlit of course) and listening for an engine surge. Doesn't always work, but worth a try, just be careful with the propane. You can try also pinching some of the flexible vacuum lines and hearing for a change.

Do you hear it only inside the car or outside with the hood up or both?

Screwdriver will only work for internal engine noise and only so well stethoscope with the end removed so it's just the hose can help find external noises too. Might be able to squirt some superlube or something at the crank seal to rule that out. I've seen seals dry out and chirp but it's usually not too loud. After that I'd start looking into valvetrain, chirping is usually stuff that rotates. Did it happen immediately after the oil change? Have you been using royal purple regularly?
