Hey Ted,
Do you think I can safely get away with running my YSi-B, 3.33 pulley ID1050X's a ZL1 pump and the DSX aux kit on E85?

If you see fuel pressure drop, Injector duty cycle exceed 80% or AFR creep up stop and make necessary changes. Ted.

Hi Ted,
I'm currently at 607rwhp @11.6psi running a 2.5"upper. I'm going to be installing a 10% lower pulley soon. After a lot of searching and advice from members and reading your previous posts on this thread, it seems the JMS bap is probably what I need. I don't have E85 in my area so I wont be doing that. I don't think I want to ever go over 700rwhp because I don't want to do my bottom end. Should I be concerned that the JMS keeps voltage on the FPCM constantly? Is there anything I shoud do to the FPCM in HPT after installing this? I dont think it's at the stock settings now. I'm going to tune fueling of course after the 10% install. I was thinking a bap might help atomization by adding pressure instead of trying to compensate with raising injector duty cycle. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks, Mark 2014 Camaro ZL1 with stock fuel pump BTR stage 3 PD cam ID850's 2.5" upper CAI LT's no cats |

You are currently at 18% overdrive on the blower, which requires a JMS . If you go to any more you will need a Fore innovations fuel system to keep up. With a our JRE road race special cam you can get to 700 RWHP with only 23% overdrive about 12.5 psi boost, and the JMS ID850 combo will be enough. Again beyond that you need a Fore system. No concerns on the JMS it is simple a voltage regulator full time and a booster when needed, in as many years as we have been using them never seen any side effects. You can not force the stock ZL-1 pump to provide any more fuel than it takes to make 700 RWHP with a cam. Without a cam you would need to run a lot more boost which comes with a lot more parasitic loss, and Engine air flow back pressure and will find the fuel system limits much earlier. Call me with any quesitons. Ted.

Hi Ted,
A few days ago I ran up to 6200 rpm with a data log. My ID850s were at 80% and fuel went from 60lbs to 45lbs. Afr was unchanged. This was at 14lbs boost. I recently did a 10% lower on top of my 2.5” upper. I don’t plan for more Hp at this point seeing as this is a street car for the most part. I have HPT so I might try to increase the min. Voltage from the current 14.5 to 15.5volts. Some have had success but if it doesn’t work, looks like a JMS will be in my future.

The JMS runs 14.5 volts then 17.5 in boost. 2.5 10% combo is too much for the stock fuel pump even with the JMS and any tuning you can do with HP. Remember your fuel pressure is suppose to be 66 psi commanded. A fore innovations is in your future.

Thanks Ted, I don’t think I’ve ever seen 68 psi from this pump

Sorry 66 is commanded High flow fuel pressure which means your losing 20 psi

Yea, sounds right. I know I need more pressure to get better atomization. There is no E85 around here so I’ll be sticking to the ID850s. No money for head work or bottom end so I’m stuck at this HP for a while. So a JMS would work for know right? Not sure I want to meth either at this point.

FWIW, the combo in my signature holds 65-66 psi all the way to 6800 with just the JMS and the stock pump. My cam is very similar to the BTR 3.

Thanks Rob. I was at 60+ psi ( at work so don’t remember exact psi) at 5500 then it started dropping. A Fore Innovations would be nice if I had $1200. I’m gonna be trying the JMS first.

Hi Ted, I have a 2014 LS3 daily driver with LTs, exhaust and CAI, all manufactures unknown, I bought it with these on. I changed all of the fluids and am getting ready for a tune up. Looking at catch can to keep it clean.
In the long run I want FI system, upgraded heads, fuel rails, bigger injectors, and cam. Plus all of the beefier rods, springs etc. I am sure as I go pumps and other things will also be needed. I have two questions. 1, a NOS kit is on it, can I safely remove it or is it better to leave it in place. I don’t plan on using it beyond showing it to people. 2. Because of budget I plan on building this all in stages, what is a recommended order of build?

Hey Ted,
How much rwhp is gained on a ZL1 going from a 10% pulley to an 18%? Car already has bolt-ons. |
