AFR gauge or Lamda Gauge
Would just an AFR gauge suffice, or should I get a Lamda gauge? Planning on biting the bullet and do e85 with the build. What do you guys use?

With an AEM setup you can switch between the two....Lamda being simplest to read

I have that one and love it! Reads through hp tuners with obd2 connector.

Is this the 1 you have? AEM Wideband UEGO Gauge - Digital Air/Fuel - 30-4110 So from what I read, if the mixture is good, it’s always going to read 1? What numbers usually pop up during WOT? |

You should see around stoich 1.00 lambda (14.68 air-fuel) during idle and cruise, but it will fluctuate like a sine wave up and down, maybe 2-5% depending on how your O2's are cycling fueling.
WOT readings will read how the car supposed to be tuned: maybe around 0.80 to 0.84 lambda (11.7 to 12.3 AFF) for N/A, maybe 0.74 to 0.78 (10.8 to 11.5 AFR) for FI. Fueling gauges are lambda reading gauges, and just calculate and output the reading in AFR (derived from lambda). Nice thing about lambda is that you don't need to know the AFR for each fuel - it's just a consistent scale that reads what "percent" of stoichiometric you are running.

Depends on your build, but yes, that's close. Generally, the more boost I push, the more fuel I'll run - to keep things happily fueled and "cool."

Aem Uego also. In my logs i show lambda, on the gauge i left it as afr. Its just more natural to me and I can react quicker to 12.5 than i can .85. I dont know why. With lambda i tend to take .5 seconds to calculate.

I’m at ground 0, so idk what numbers I should see, or what’s good. I know that different alcohol percentage could change that reading also..

It doesn't matter. Once you know what you're supposed to be at you'll know what to look for. My mind works in AFR so if i see lambda i calculate it to AFR so it's better for me to just read AFR and know where i am supposed to be at

I have that gauge, no complaints. I am only using 93 octane at this time, haven't switched to e85 yet. Keep in mind e85 isn't always exactly e85, stoich will change based on the ethanol content. AFR you'll need to do a conversion, with lambda, it doesn't matter.

Dont get confused with the different stoichs of each fuel. Who is going to tune it? Have you started a pile of parts yet?
