HELP!!! WHAT CAUSES BUCKING??

Why does my 10 SS buck on acceleration when cold? I’ve seen numerous threads but really no clear cut fix. It’s not my MAF or CAI, I’ve checked everything, has anyone had this problem and actually fixed it?

Mine has always been that way....stock and modded. My GTO's did the same. Its the slack in the drive train. Always amplified when cold.

My Camaro doesn't buck. I had a car that bucked and surged until warm. It turned out to be bad 02 sensors. It never popped the CEL.

Mine does it bad some times. It's speed density tuned with a ton of mods and does NOT like the 30s or 40s. Bucking is better on 50 degrees or better with the corrent map.

Yes, it's the nature of the beast. Over time you learn to compensate. Or...get a one piece drive shaft and some diff bushings.

When my car was stock, I didn't have any bucking. Hell, I currently have the stock driveshaft and have no problems.

Bucking is from the car having a stall speed as in being a manual. You have to achieve a certain amount of throttle RPM to overcome the grabbing of the engine by the clutch being in gear with RPM or your going to stall and that's the bucking which is the engine wanting to die.

A modified cammed engine will have a higher manual idle speed set to around 950 actually and a take off speed to avoid "Bucking" more of in the 1300-1500 range meaning the clutch should not be eased out until your at that RPM. And driving in parking lots is about clutch in clutch out.... Coast then coast some more...……… Good luck

Now if its just from being cold that's one thing as the car may want more RPM and your "Dogging it" and it needs to warm up a little, or your "custom" tune could be off and not actually giving it enough gas for a cold air mixture that's requiring richer, and the car does actually change its Air Fuel Mixture by computer and change idle also when overcoming being cold, my car I have to avoid getting too low in the RPMS just driving if I am being fuel efficient always as blow 1500 rpm it will "Buck" also known by some as cam surge which I think more of when I have been in gear then let it out of gear and the engine continues to roar and go a little louder and stronger once the load of the clutch is released from the engine... You might try a search under cam surge...
