It was an honest question no need to be salty.

So i have 2 sets of Nitto's NT555G2
Lowered BMR 1.25" F/R BMW Adjustable Toe Rod BMR Trailing Arms BMR Cradle Bushings Daily set on 2014 1LE Wheels 285/35 fronts 315/35 rears Track set on 2018 ZL1 Wheels 285/30 fronts 305/30 rears I think these might work just a tad better for track? Finding them and price? 295/30 fronts 315/30 rears The 555's are NOT a track tire. Very finicky on temperature and psi. When they get too warm their gone/slip/slide. Under-inflated or over-inflated suck too. Sweet spot is around 31/32 psi pre track so far. The 35 series don't turn as well as the 30's. 30's are more finicky on tire pressure and not as forgiving with heat. Slippery quicker. Maybe because there's not as much sidewall. |

Guy who wrote that wasn't fast. Once hot, there are few tires that will last well under this car. It's a 4K lb track rat. People have overheated PS4s with very aggressive street driving. At the track they are gone in a few laps and you'll need to come in and let them cool otherwise you'll slide all over the place and chew them up.
The people who complain about G2s not having grip have never gotten them hot. They are fantastic when hot and they hold up to the kind of abuse and heat that only a 4K lb car can deliver. I run PS4s as my street/winter tire, RE71-Rs at the autocross (and I have to cool them constantly), and G2s at the track.

I think the tire in question is the Nitto NT555 g2. I have zero experience with the tire, but also haven't seen many people running them at track days. However, if the Nittos are secretly incredible, please preach! They're almost half the price of every track tire out there. ![]() |

They are not anywhere near TRACK TIRES. THEY ARE A REALLY GOOD STREET TIRE. Just look at their tread-wear rating of 320. Most track tires start at 200. Im a newbie to trackdays so i didnt want to waste money on tires until i got some seat time in the car and on the tracks. If you want to have a track day tire AND a street tires on the same wheels for fun. THEN yes i would recommend them. Their about as cheap as you can go and still be quite competitive and safe. |

glad I found this post, I've been considering dropping down to a 30 from my 35s.
previous owner installed 315/35/20 on the rear and they measure almost an inch taller than the factory tires. I've considered dropping to a 315/30/20 to keep the wide look while reducing tire size to get some of my gearing back.

I ended up getting 295/315 combo. The car feels for responsive during turns compared to my 285/315 combo. I was going to get 325s, but I didn’t find any good deals.
