What's your best trap speed?

134.999999999 mph. I don't have a 6 point rollbar.

The car was really built for 1/8 mile. 112+/- 1/8 trap speed.

So does the start speed effect the trap speed?

Or i guess i should ask, can roll racings traps be compared to dig traps? Some people say they’re 2-3 mph off. Some say 10mph.

drag racing from a dig can be done at any drag strip in the country.

You dont mean to bash, yet you've come into my thread twice to do it.

There's a little thing called the International Roll Racing Association. Just because you dont know about it, doesn't mean it does not exist.

I posted this thread for answers, and you obviously don't have them. So kindly take your slow ass out of my thread.

Texas Motorplex in Ennis does roll racing from time to time. Usually before dig racing so the water boxes are dry. Executive Airport in Addison Texas has several roll racing events each year.

Gila Bend AZ hosts Omega Motor sports "No Fly Zone" several times a year at their airport. Supposed to be rolling start but I've also seen them do standing "dig" starts also. I think they leave it up to the individual contestants. Either way it is 1/2 mile of LEGAL fun. No flashing red and blue lights in your rear view mirror.

So out of all you pro's nobody can answer this question?

I'd like to find out (about) what my trap speed was on this old motor, before I drop in the Dart 427. I will probably never go WOT on green at 32mph again, so I'm trying to make the best comparison possible.

If you start a 1/4 mile run at 0 mph or start at 40 mph, your trap speed is going to be different. I have never done roll racing, so I don't know what the difference is.

Just guessing here, start speeds of 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, etc would have a linear progression of trap speeds with minor margin of error, assuming same conditions and no spinning at any of the speeds.

You also have to take into consideration how much HP and torque the car has and trans/rearend gear ratios. My car is geared for 1/8 mile so I am not accelerating as much between 1/8 and 1/4 as a car with a 6L, 8L or 6sp with 3.45 or 3.23 gears.

Too many variables to answer your question.

they do a roll event occasionally at a local track called royal purple speedway.
I enjoy it since I have a 1le and don't have any suspension mods.
I trapped right around 120 which I think is pretty on par with what guys at my power level are trapping from a dig.
