Any of you use JDP Motorsports? Thoughts on a Magnuson Supercharger?

OK, I have had my bone stock 2012 SS for about 3 years now, and I am ready to bump it up a notch. I am in Utah, and JDP Motorsports seems to be one of the top shops in this area. The car is my daily driver, so I want something that can be fairly calm when needed, and fast when wanted. Am I on the right track?

Don't know anything about jdp but a PD supercharger is a good track. I can daily drive mine and it drives pretty much like stock expect very low rpm due to the cam. Did a cruise last weekend and drove 250 miles. With the stock cam it drove just like stock until you hit the go pedal hard enough to get into boost. Had almost 600hp with the stock cam.

Any forced induction will drive pretty stock until you're under boost. PD supercharger you get monster torque very low rpm range. At 2500rpm i'm at 500lbs feels like a big block with a super flat power curve strong and steady. Centri blowers will peak higher with a little less at low rpm but they can be very noisy which i don't like. Twin turbo makes the most power with least strain but can feel spongy on the bottom a bit with almost a powerband that just climbs and climbs can be almost like a 2 stroke depending on how much you are peaking at. You have to think about what you want. Daily drivers or street driven leans towards PD more track time leans towards centri max effort 1k hp plus you're heading to turbos. My whipple doesn't make the whine it sounds almost 100% stock except for the exhaust and a slight whistle as the bypass valve closes. LSA. Superchargers are less expensive, less peak hp. Kong makes a SC for them though which can make around 1k whp. LSA makes about as much torque as it does HP where the whipple makes less tq than HP. Smaller blowers spinning fast make more torque. Large blowers spinning slower make more HP as it was explained to me.

I had a Magnuson Heartbeat blower fitted back in 2017; drives like stock until you pin the pedal to the mat. Looks like a factory-fitted option under the hood, quality product and fitting kit. Highly recommended.

As for the maggie heartbeat people seem to like them. They are smaller than a whipple though and max out around 800-850whp i believe, i may not be 100% accurate on that. The whipple is a bit more capable and they are about the same price. Maggie will make more whine than the whipple. Jannetty recommended the whipple to me that's why i went that route. They do a lot of installs with both them though.
Can always give jannetty a call and ted can give you all the details you need on the differences and what to expect.
