Well, personally...I don't like "country" music, I don't own a pair of cowboy boots, and you won't ever see me sporting a cowboy hat.

I may have lived in the South my entire life, but I certainly don't identify myself as being a "Southern Girl." But, that's just how I "roll," lol...my Dad grew up in Michigan, so maybe that's why? However, A LOT of people that do live here, and the area itself, would most definitely fit the description, which is why I mentioned it being "Country" down here. You know, peanut fields as far as the eye can see, tractors driving down the road, lifted Chevy 4x4's on every other corner...that kind of thing.

Like I said, I was just honestly surprised that the national meet-up is going to be held in Adel, of all places. I think it's awesome...and completely random, all at the same time, lol. I definitely didn't mean to allude to any "Deliverance," backwoods stereotypes...

However, don't hold me responsible if some good ole' boy compliments you on your "purdy mouth"...
South Georgia has more than it's fair share of nuts! peanuts, pecans, walnuts, etc

See Junkie's explanation below... SGMP is a first class facility with national credentials.

The NHRA always rents it out and so do the Teams..they like to use it as a test and tune track..it was very hard just to get a weekend there as they are always booked. That place is no slouch at all..town is slow..the facility is world class.

Oh, no worries...I get that. Definitely wasn't trying to discount the caliber of the facility, I was just unaware of it's nationally-known status prior to reading through the thread and visiting their website. The location (Adel) is what's random, not the track itself.

great time of year for a south Georgia get together. I'm surprised it wasn't already booked.
