Holy @$%& this things loud

So have been driving and data logging my new setup. I have to say, Ryan @ gpi is the man and knows how to make these kits flat out work. Very happy with everything ive done. Its a beast. Starting to wonder if i should attempt to tame it a little for those cold starts lol. It is crazy loud, like open header loud with corsa extreme, long tubes and no cats. I dont want to lose any power and i love the sound, but is there any options to lighten the bark a touch without hurting performance?

try adding a resonated x pipe in the middle of your exhaust system to tone it down a bit.

I have been considering going Corsa Extreme and adding in the Hooker Blackheart Attitude valving system. Comes with a digital touchpad for adjustments, It can be set up to work like NPP using TPS or RPM via OBDII. It also ha a built in MAF in case you don't want to use OBD. That would be a $2500 exhaust setup for me though, less for you of course since you already have the exhaust. It just got so much louder after the cam install and I would like to keep it quieter near my house.

Very pricey, but it seems like a really nice system that gives you tons of control.

With a big cam, corsa is LOUD, even the sport mufflers. Had the ZL1 setup on mine...swapped them out.

I think one of the biggest mistakes people make building cars is making them too loud. It sounds impressive from the outside but if you actually drive the car a lot it becomes very annoying and makes the car un-pleasurable to drive.

Like the stock NPP, if you get some tame mufflers, the car is still nice and loud at WOT but cruises nice and tame sounding so you get the best of both worlds.

I prefer it loud and unruly. Full chop. Usually keep the exhaust with 40 series Flowmasters on though unless I'm feeling froggy or when I go to the drag strip

Ya, everyone likes it different!

I had a ZL1 Flowmaster Outlaw system on the car for about a mile of driving. Turned around, took it off the car and shipped it back to Amazon and got my money back!

The drone was so bad it was insane, everything in the car was vibrating and making noise, ****ing piece of shit system.

Agree 100%, and I actually like/respect my neighbors. Yes, I'm getting older (and wiser), I'd rather drive a sleeper.

It's not that it is too loud for me, I love it loud. But since I added the cam I have been inside my own house enough with the engine running to understand what my neighbors are going though.

It was tolerable before the cam swap, but inside now you can feel the bass from the BRAP BRAP BRAP, CHUGGA CHUGGA CHUGGA CHUGGA, BRAP BRAP BRAP. It actually vibrates the windows in the house and I can hear vibrating in the rafters. So since the cam swap I usually won't start the car after 10pm, and usually try to limit it to 9pm. If the sun is out I don't give a damn.

I have a 'Mega-Karen' living next door, so I know it is only a matter of time before she asks to speak to the manager.

Sounds like you live by me, I have one as well. I guess there is always that “one” person.
