I did the shifter boot mod yesterday it should have came like that from the factory.
Not that space age plastic legoland crap that it came with. I just wish I had known about this easy mod sooner and done it years ago.

I replaced my driver's window switch, door harness, and X500 door harness connector/pigtail ( Rectangular connector in door jamb) and ran new grounds in the A-pillar kick panel (Relocated to the dash frame, they run right next to sunroof drain from the factory). I had to take the door off to run the harness back through as the rubber boot won't seal otherwise (no clearance).
What a royal PITA. GM stopped making new 5th gen door harnesses last year, which really sucks as you have to find used from a totaled car. 2013-2015 door harnesses are plentiful on Ebay but not 2010-2012. Have to use model year specific as they relocated the door lock switch in the later models, but not sure which year. The 2nd picture is of my demolished X500 connector held together by electrical tape. I got tired of different things not working each time I closed my door. That 3rd picture with the yellow butt connector on the door ground wire - that is what the GM dealer 'fixed' 2 years ago. They didn't even use a weathertight shrink connector or wrap/seal it. Never again.

2016 2SS Convertible

Had my BMR lowering springs, Borla Atak exhaust and 3.91 center section installed. NewGen Customs did the work. Also hooked up my oil catch can, changed my trans fluid, oil change and sold me his factory wind screen (dosen't fit his car because of the rollar. Turned out great, looks, sounds and drives like a different car!!!!
