exhaust drone

Kooks 3" Catted (Hollowed Out) Exhaust 22505200

i have Kooks long tubes that are hooked to the above part number.

it has a horrible drone at 70-75 which really doesnt bother me but would like to tone it down a little.

is there an exhaust that hooks to this to quiet it down a bit? from the cats back it is a Kooks 3 inch system going back to Kooks mufflers.

Will a Corsa or something like that bolt right up to the Kooks system?

I have Kooks with no cats going to a 3'' corsa extreme. Not much drone in the car at all. I would definitely recommend Corsa

Corsa and Solo Performance have been our go to systems when it comes to drone free exhaust systems. Corsa is king but you pay a premium. Solo is a nice affordable alternative with more of a muscle car sound. Both will bolt up to your Kooks headers

Could you also resonate your current system? Before you scrap it and get something different

J pipes may help. They got rid of all booming drone sound from my shorty headers hiflows and 3“ magnaflow catback . Made it more clear sounding to. There is a thread called stop the drone, the heimholtz theory, or something like that. It gives you correct j pipe length to use based on drone rpm range. My muffler shop made mine for $150

Drone comes from mufflers. The higher pitched exhaust like Corsa and Borla don't have drone for that reason.

Helmholtz resonators (j pipes) are supposed to work.

these came on my new to me camaro i took them off because i had a magnaflow cat back but they look decent, kinda like a flowmaster knock-off. i wouldn't say cheap but really inexpensive. i may throw them back on.

Talked to two shops today about making me some J Pipes. Neither was interested in doing it. Never imagined it would be difficult finding a shop
