Engine covers
Hey Rick and Andy - If I bring my 2SS in for the TVS2300 pqackage you guys are offering how would you feel about using my stock engine cover as a test unit to see how you could modify it for re-installation?
It seems to me that everyone here on the forum want to cover up the coils and wires on the sides of the engine when adding the maggie S/C. You mentioned that you have not yet develoed one and I was wondering if you would use mine for your development/design? It may go along way in drumming up business for these covers when doing your S/C installations. Just something to take into consideration. Thanks and let me know what you think. |

Driving modes?
Quote:
Sounds good, I will remember to mention the engine cover when I am ready to schedule pick-up with you in the near future. ![]() Does adding this S/C affect the different driving modes of the car? Will all of the different modes still be available and work in the same manner? How does the tune affect these modes? Let me know when I get to a question you have never heard? ![]() Thanks |

Rick or Andy...
Work has got in the way of stopping by...been gnawing at the bit wanting to see what is what at Livernois.. With the release of the CAI comparo's, this is a naturally aspirated comparison. What CAI would afford the best gains on the Mag install? As well, I would be looking to your guidance on longtubes if the benefit is worth the investment. Yea, they look great with the Maggie, but 20 hp for $1800 is well, a wash. I like fast, but not for that price tag. So allow me to assume 120 hp on base Mag install. By adding CAI, longtubes/aftermarket exhaust, tune, what realistic flywheel hp can be achieved over the "base" install? I understand variances between the maybe 12 different CAI and 29 different long tube specs and 782 cat back exhaust packages are negligable, but what would be a mean average over the 120 HP base install, adding all three? What would be the best longtube, full exhaust and CAI regardless of price? Thanks! Tom

As far as headers, our preference is Kooks primarily due to their usage of a ball and socket flange, which allows for better flexibility in the exhaust system, extending the life of every part of the system. Of course, in addition to this, they are a fantastic product that fits great, makes great power, and will outlast the car. Then to finish it off, Corsa for exhaust. Plainly, because it doesn't drone. No matter how aggressive of a cam/engine/header we have ever used with a corsa system, it has never had drone. To my own personal taste this is paramount in my decision making. I want an exhaust I can go across the country, and still be smiling after numerous hours at a steady speed ![]() Now the power number of it all, combined with the cost. That is always a question to the purchaser. If it were me, I would put it all on in a heatbeat, but I would add a camshaft, and as much boost as I could run
