What Long Tube to go with Borla Atak Catback?

So...
I plan to get long tubes for my Camaro.
I live in California so I have to keep my original Borla catback as well as the stock manifolds for smog times.

I have been doing some research about the Long tube headers and I arrived at 4 main brands. ARH, Kooks, Texas, BBK.

From my understanding, Long Tube headers will require different midpipes so my x pipe from my Borla will not work. Please correct me if I am wrong.

That being said, many of those LT come with Cats as an option (is it a good idea to get it)? Is there anything else I need to look out for during the buying process?

Thanks in advance

I have ARH LTH and their HFC... excellent quality however, the fitment is a little wonky on my setup. I had to get a different exhaust tunnel brace because everything sits much lower causing things to rub (I got 1 7/8 headers and 3in mid-piping) Maybe it's different on coupes or 2.5in pipe but if you're really considering ARH, ask around to make sure about fitment.

Dont think long tubes are gonna fly in CA. Shorties and cats maybe.

ARH is the only long tube that I know of that will not directly bolt up to a standard catback exhaust. Personally I'm running Kooks and am very happy with them. Whichever brand you pick, make sure you're getting at least 1 7/8" tubes. 1 3/4" leaves power on the table. As for high flow cats, they're nice to have if you need cats and they take some of the rasp out of the sound of the exhaust which with a Borla Atak you'll be raspy catless for sure.

Now for the elephant in the room. You live in California. Most long tube header manufacturers and many places that sell long tube headers won't ship to California. Most say that right on their website. You might get lucky and find someone who will, but as you already acknowledged you'll have to remove them to pass inspection.
