OEM Backup lines

Anyone go to an aftermarket radio and have the OEM mylink backup lines that move with steering wheel be retained?

The idatalink Maestro RR shows as retaining it with at least some head units.

camera yeah, im going to call them to find out and report back

Kenwood/JVC units that have advanced camera features (and 2 camera inputs) can do it where you get the moving lines. Pioneer MAYYYYY be coming out with it but right now theres no telling.

Correct.
I’ve got idatalink and kenwood with backup lines that bend. All aftermarket. Has nothing to do with factory because mine was the original basic crap factory hu w/o a camera. Works great. I want to put this setup in the Z28 if I drive it more often.

As of now only kenwood and jvc do this feature. TBH i have never liked their UI and had bad experiences even with their excelon line. im calling pioneer to find out

Will you share your bad experience with kenwood/jvc? I had an issue with idatalink on installation but they sent me another part and the entire system has been good. I really like the short stereo chassis which makes installation very nice without stuffing wires behind the dash. In the past I’ve had issues with just about every brand. Most issues are installation(wiring) or stereo software that updates fix or the company replaces the stereo.

Had a high end non nave excelon ddin, was good for 6 months then the rcas went insane and would spark when touching them ( even when on the bench and metering with a DMM). had another one that the front USB on a sdin just flat out stopped working. Kenwoods been on my avoid lsit for a long time and i wont go back. i like the route people are going now with modular ( pioneer 9" ) that i can have molded to a better angle in the kit, or get a busted mylink and take the display, knobs off and have the nice style of kit and use the RR with it. have both kits put together basically. will be nicer. i hate having the radio angled up like very kit does
