Bought, not built - Found who built my Z
I was scrolling through youtube, looking for Procharger installation videos. I feel like the "600hp" that my car makes isnt enough and some type of boost would help me. As i was scrolling through the suggested videos, i saw a thumbnail of a White Z28 on the dyno. I suspected it was mine since my car is the only one ive seen withe body-colored side markers and The video title sounds like the parts that my car has. Then i noticed in the video, it has the same tow hook i do and LED headlights like mine...
https://www.youtube.com/embed/k1z2P2HuP2c Then i search the owner on Facebook. I get lucky; his profile is public. i contact him and he sends me his build list: I just searched on BTR's website to see if i can find the cam he used, and they have this on their site (a clip of my car!) https://briantooleyracing.com/btr-ca...-34758123.html The kid who built it also tells me that the owner after him, prior to me, did a flex fuel conversion with 1000cc injectors, sensor and tune... and has made 620whp after the conversion. Im feeling better and better every day about switching from my old supra to this incredible machine! Im hoping to retune it and hit the dyno looking for a few more HP now that its at sea level vs the mountains of Tennessee. I love this car... |

100% certain the old owner is on here. All the stuff was installed and then he had to sell it IIRC.

Vengeance is a first class operation but any major modifications devalue therefore decreases you selling power significantly.

I think he may have had a baby right around then. I saw a post about how he had to make some changes and get something with more room.
Resale wasn’t the primary reason I bought this car. It’s already got 47k on it so having a museum piece is out of the question. My family has been an fbody family since 1986. My dad gifted the 86 trans am to her. She bought her own 16 1ss manual. I’ve had a 79ta since 1997. This Camaro is staying with me for a long time I think. |

OP,
Always great news when you can find out some more history about a preowned car you purchased. Enjoy the heck out of it. Forget the negative Nancy who had to throw the comment in there about your car being devalued. (which had nothing to do with your original post). Cars are meant to be enjoyed.

Thanks Guys!
I have been driving it quite a bit. Ive put on 100 miles in a night quite a few times so far. Since switching over to E85, i have slowed it down to 100-180 miles a week, since thats all it gets to a tank and the station is 28 miles from my house. |
