the people that are getting infected right now are the healthy ones, the people that are not at risk. the ones that will fall from it are aware and don’t take the risks that the healthy would. I’m not cowering but I am doing what is right, the proper things that good people will do to slow down the rate of infection so maybe one day these poor people that are vulnerable could maybe hug their children again.
the selfish are stopping this from happening.

99.6%+ of the infected people recover. (And that number continues to go up)

The "96%" (wherever that number came from....) "live in fear" because the media stirs up fear and panic then everyone feeds off it. If you are susceptible to pneumonia than you should take precautions. If you have pre-existing conditions that would be aggravated by the flu you should take precautions.
Other than that, if you contract the virus, you have "flu like" symptoms IF you have anything at all.

Further, even with a vaccine, 61,000 died from the flu in the US during the 2017-2018.

Here is a new flu-like virus and we are at 149K. Not great numbers, but definitely not the millions they said it would be.

Also, everyone will eventually get this. No matter how careful you are you will get it. It's similar to the flu in transmission and symptoms.
I'm not against wearing a mask. Even with my asthma it doesn't bother me. I'm also not against people not being up my ass in the grocery store and I think the dividers between customers and cashiers are long overdue.

All of these precautions spared us of the "millions" you're erroneously citing. We put a lot of work in here in the northeast, reducing the spread amongst ourselves and to you guys as well, and learning and publishing the best supportive care protocols for hospitals to address this.
Be wise and learn from us. Please don't **** it up because you don't care.

This. Media will continue to stir up fear, at least until November!

If it works for you... great!

Millions aren't dying because 99% of all cases are mild or asymptomatic. Not because you stayed 6' apart or wear a mask. It's because it is a flu like virus, not an Ebola type virus.

If 60% were dying I'd have to agree with you. But, when it's less than .4% (and dropping daily) it's being blown WAY out of proportion.

And, there is NO way it's going to go from .4% to 60% (or even close to that) because everyone acts normal.

If you want to get the numbers down put on a mask. Its there to protect others not yourself. You know the essential workers healthcare professionals, store clerks

I am an essential worker. And I do not need to protect anyone. It's not my job, nor my responsibility. Especially from a virus that 99.6% of people recover from. Relalistically, it's a glorified flu bug.

But, hey, If you feel so strongly about the need to protect other people, why not send me 10k to protect me from some financial hardships?

No, the science says this is blown out of proportion, not me. 99.6%+ will recover.

All of society must stop (economically, socially, and physically) to accommodate .3xx% of the population?

And I'm the one with my head up my ass?
It sounds like you are the one in that class because "the emperor has no clothes" and you refuse to admit it....

Look, if you want a more normal life, become a protester in a Democratic state or city. Not only will the virus not affect you, (as has been proven again and again) you will be sanctioned by the local leadership as exercising your 1st Amendment rights. And you can stay out all night, break laws with complete and total impunity.

And hey, with catch and release, even if you do get arrested, you can be back on the streets before the fires are even out. Was this a great country or what!

All your mitigation efforts will do nothing. The virus is on every continent. As has been stated, you WILL get it one way and time or another. Cower in your hermetically sealed house and you'll only delay the infection. Get it while you're younger, because the old and infirmed are absolutely vulnerable. Just as they were with SARS, H1N1, etc...

I thought the initial two week shut down was just to flatten the curve in order to allow hospitals to respond without overload.
Now four months later we have Karen pepper spraying a guy eating lunch outside at a dog park because, even tough he's 10 feet from anyone else in the park, he isn't wearing a mask.
