I have a question for the op

1. Do you also have the zl1 bellypan that covers the underside of the front cradle/engine? It’s hard to tell in your pics. My thoughts are to incorporate those mounting points to mounting this. I am assuming if you did have this cover you removed it and eliminated it in place of this?

2. How is the fitment in relation to the oil filter and drain plug? Wouldn’t want to Have to remove that every time I do a oil change.

I did not get the bellypan when I did the conversion a few years back. You can incorporate any mounting position you want with this flat 'wing' of a splitter. Its aluminum composite is strong and I didn't feel the need to add washers or anything larger to support it. The rivets did just fine.

The splitter ends just a bit further than the fascia its self. No blockage of filter or plug for oil changes. This isn't a problem.

Its light weight and strength is a credit to its maker. You guys will not be disappointed with this piece.

I'll try the fins on soon. Will post some pics after install.

Eye problems? Cataracts? Sorry bro. Its quite easy to see...

Kidding aside, I see what you're saying... it does kinda look a bit short.

I still like it... but Im interested in seeing it a bit longer... so, I've ordered a new U channel trim. I was thinking 1" or 2".

Either will help. Should be interesting... more to come...

I can see it just fine. It sticks out between 1-2.5 inches...

That's about right... pretty good for just eyeballing it. Good eyes vs. bad eyes boys and girls......

So, I pulled the trigger on the 1" (.925" actually) long trim, cancelled the 2". Going to try that first. I've actually been thinking about this for a few days now. This would give it a bit more profile.

I'm curious to see what this will looks like. I'll put this on with the fins once it arrives later this week.

Here's what the fins would look like... just a generic pic for those wondering.

Morning Camaro Crew! Hope all is well in your part of the world.

I didn't want to leave this hanging so here's an update on where I'm at with this small project.

The trim I ordered did come in. I installed it, and although it looks 'okay' in my eyes, There are some things I'm not feeling...

Below pics show the car as is right now. One thing I will say - Awesome I can replace the trim at will, and install what I feel will look best. This doesn't look best in my eyes.

The rubber trim sticks out nicely adding accent to the splitter, but it doesn't fold right around the pointy edges. Rubber is too thick. A little heat might work but there are other things I'm not feeling about this trim.

As you can see, the U channel part that meets the splitter is too pronounced. I don't like the ridge design on this one.

What do you guys think? I'm thinking right idea to add some accent, wrong trim.

That said, this week I ordered 3 additional sets of trim that look pretty good and show promise. This project is getting expensive... Different trims than the one I'm currently wearing. I'm going to try a few of them on this weekend. I added pics of what they look like also below...

Not done yet with this splitter. More to come. Me and splitters I swear smh.........

Lastly, no fins yet... I'll try them on SOON! I 'fit' them and they're going to look good... but I've got to get this trim thing right first!

Looking Great. Watching this thread closely. I've been a fan of Canards for a long time, thought about trying to make my own. I like what your doing. Keep sharing the pics!!

Turned out OK.
I could be wrong but with the heat you are experiencing (here too, 108 today) i bet the rubber will conform fairly quickly. Interested to see how the rubber performs on the first scrape test.

I think u should’ve kept it IO, instead of adding the edge.

He’s some other options too for the lookers. Bought the side skirts for my ZL1 rockers. Fit and finish is great. Was going to get the front splitter, but I have a 1LE, so it doesn’t fit.
