Why won’t my ss do a burnout. Need help.
Hello there people. So I’m having an issue. I can’t get my car to do a burnout! A stand still burnout. It’s a 2013 a6. I am not new to this, I have done them before. I turn traction and stability off and rev up to about 1600-1700rpm it feels like she tries to spin the tires free but then she lunges forward!. I have done this with manual mode in first gear. On take offs she’ll chirp 2nd and 3rd gear. So I can’t figure out what it is. Perhaps something that I can have my tuner adjust? Or I’ve heard around here in the forums something about torque management? Please help! Thanks!

Basically it has to do with GM's "torque management". It's something programmed into the computer to prevent damage to parts with excessive abuse being administered to the vehicle. It is totally lame. Before I got a tune I had my throttle body ported and it added better throttle response and helped me get the tires going, but a tune is absolutely the way to go. Besides with an automatic a tune transforms the car into a completely different animal. You won't regret it, especially if you have your tuner tune a "wife mode" into the trans tune. Wife mode is where "D" mode has softer shifts to make a wife more happy and "M" mode has neck snapping shifts that will be a lot of fun and get people grabbing for an "oh $#!+" handle.

You just need to give it more gas.
So on your car you hold the traction control down for 10 seconds. Put it in sport, shift down to first, stand on the brakes, and floor it. It will burn out for sure.

wish it was that easy bud. i know how to do a burnout but ever installing my blower and getting tuned. i guess my tuner messed with my torque management settings or whatever.

You have a blower and still can't melt the tires?! I'd say there's more than just torque management going on. I thought you were stock or near stock. Sounds almost like someone really messed up your tune. Did you get a dyno sheet with the tune to see what numbers you're running?

This is on a blower car. 😅. We have bigger issues for sure.

Definitely bigger issues, my stock tune l99 will roast the tires at a stand still while holding the brakes. It really doesn’t take much at all to get them spinning.

Maybe you are on the low octane table. Pull #5 and #20 fuses and leave over night. Assuming you are using premium 93 octane.
