CLUTCH???

So I took the Camaro out today and was going to just run it through the gears. Took off about 3000 rpms then got into it hard thought it was tire spin but when I went to shift into 2 great I noticed the clutch pedal was only out about half way. Got second and all I could smell was clutch not tires so I let off. What's up with this??

If it never did that before, sounds like the clutch is going out. But, I'd change the fluid and do a good bleed first. See what happens then.

You can check/search on articles previously posted, but our M6s share the same hydralic reservoir with the brakes. People believe that cross contamination causes the cluch pedal not to return. I have seen both articles that show how to add a separate hydraulic reservoir for the clutch as well as a bracket and return spring that can be added to the clutch pedal.

I had the clutch pedal stick down at the track. Pulled it back up and drove home. I went to the separate G8 reservoir and never had the problem again.

I have a add on reservoir coming tomorrow I'll put it on so a dot4 change and hope for the best! If not I guess I'll be asking about the best clutch to replace mine.

You will get various opinions on the "best" clutch but just make sure you get a remote bleeder and a billet release bearing support
