Of course I can, but the cooler is mounted level with the bottom of the radiator. The hoses that run in/out of it are on the bottom, and not visible with the hood open.
I'd suggest you contact B&M and see what they say. Again, I didn't install it myself. It does it's job properly, so I have had no need to get under the car to see how it's routed. I have no lift, or ramps to get underneath the car.

what GEL is, before you say that. Thickening and GELing are NOT the same. IF the fluid were GEL, it won't pull through the filter. IT will get sucked through, in chunks, till there is a cavity left behind, thus nothing else is pulled through once that pocket of air is there. I am telling you, and I don't care what you think from this point on, that will be your malfunction; TRANS fluid will not "gel." You are confusing it with thickening. Gelling is totally different, and is a LOT worse. Oils can GEL without it being cold, simple contaminants will do that. You can look on line and see how motor oil can gel, even in non cold climates. Too many oil additives, and water contamination will GEL motor oil in any climate. It will sludge first, then it gels up, and once it is gelled, it stays that way. I mean, go buy some Jello, make it, then take it out of the fridge and see if it melts back to a liquid. Go ahead, I'll wait... Once oil gets so contaminated that it GELs, it doesn't go back. |

The cooler lines going into and out of the radiator are clearly visible from above, but nevermind. I'm not sure you'll know what they are even if you were looking at them as you don't seem vary familiar with your car. |

I personally don't need to know if it bypasses or not, all I need to know is it works properly, which it has for 3 years. I'm plenty familiar with my car. I installed the CAI, the PTB, the Nitrous System, the UDP, the Brake Pads, the 160* Tstat, the Line Lock, Catch Can, 2 step cooler plugs, and the TL's/TA's. I've had the drag wheels on/off 100 times. None of these require me getting underneath the car. I don't have a lift or a pit, so I cannot get underneath it safely. Here is a pic of the cooler, you can see the lines going under the radiator, where do they go from there? I don't know because I cannot see under the car, and have no need to do so. Pull up to the tree beside me at the dragstrip and I'll be glad to show you how familiar I am with my car.

Thanks for the input guys! I appreciate everyone's responses! So now atleast I know that the temps I'm running are good and not 'too cold' to harm the trans.

I got mine for like, $25.00 at Advance Auto on sale. I could not pass them up. Then I got as new set of metal ramps for $20 a few weeks later from someone on Facebook. So, I have what I need in ramps. The metal ramps won't work with the Camaro, but do the Msutang. So, these Rhino-Ramps work for the Camaro, and the Mustang. |
