Cam1 & Pioneer AVIC 8500NEX
I'm quite pleased with the CAM1. Buttons programmed without a hitch and the fit and finish look great. The face of the head unit I chose doesn't open completely for access to the cd, it's quite a tight fit. No biggy as I don't have cds. If anyone has a similar unit and can get Apple Carplay to connect wirelessly let me know. Bluetooth works fine (iphone 10 BTW), but it won't connect via wifi once it boots up. I placed my old head unit and dash kits (2) in the for sale section of the forum.

Yes my installer installed the latest firmware. I can connect via USB and use Carplay just fine and yes bluetooth connects seamlessly. It just won't connect wirelessly for Carplay specifically. Thanks for the reply...

I believe Apple CarPlay has country restrictions.
You may want to manually turn on CarPlay under your Apple device's Bluetooth settings. |

Sure. Although I'm not positive on this, it's the only variable I can pinpoint. My installer had several Wifi sources that my phone was picking up at his shop. We think when the phone and headunit were attempting to establish a connection there could've been "interference" from these other sources? Once I got home and every time I've started the car since, wireless Carplay has connected seamlessly. I know it seems to be unlikely, but as I said, that's the only difference in the process.....
