Error Loading Overkill Tune with AutoCal

I purchased a used AutoCal, and Will was able to open up a slot for me. I had no issue recording my factory tune to send Will. I have been in touch with Will to a point regarding an error I received while attempting to upload his tune (both the Engine and Transmission files):

"OS FAULT ABORTED"
"ERROR $0540"

He said to try installing the Beta version of EFILive and let it update with that version of the firmware and try again. I received the same error. I saw an option to format the AutoCal in Explorer, but I don't want to do anything yet until I can confirm the behavior. Who else experienced these issues? How did you guys resolve them? I appreciate any guidance possible.

Im.getting same error trying to connect device to efi live..i opened the files on the autcal then it appeared in a browser and was able to get factory tunes out. Please let me know what he says cause I worry I will not be able to load

I will let you know. I was hoping others had worked it out. Will responded quickly when I told him the initial issue, and I have not heard from him since Sunday.

I fixed it. Will may have been correct anyway with having the firmware loaded by the Beta version. However, I noticed that I was putting the tune files in a different place than he suggested. I put them in the "Tune" root folder, and they flashed correctly.

I recommend unlinking it from your vehicle before selling. Contact your tuner. I have seen $125-180.

I didn't not know they were linked to a specific car. I know it will hold 3 tunes, which it currently has. I am sure the buyer can have them deleted.


I have switched tuners since I got this and don't live in the same state any more.

It is tied to the last slot that was filled. Make sure that you tell a potential buyer that. The tuner may be willing to open a slot for the buyer as long as they work out something.
