Another “which clutch” thread....

Tried searching, little luck. Tapatalk search leaves a lot to be desired, sorry.

I’m thinking I need a new clutch. Since I bought the car at 10k miles, the catch point has slowly gotten closer and closer to the top and now it is catching about 3/4 up. (And the pedal did something really weird the other day... it felt like it didn’t come all the way back up, hasn’t done it since) it also feels softer than it did before. I have just under 40k on it now. (Note: I’m not exactly gentle with the car) I tried “changing” the fluid, but it didn’t really make a difference in the soft pedal.

I do have some modifications coming anyway so I wanted to bump up how much it can handle. Car is daily driven.

I’ve been eyeballing the SPEC stage 2+ clutch, partly because price. But I also have been looking at monster as well. And I’m open to suggestions. I also noticed that monster says that their single disks are for “swap only” applications. What exactly does that mean?

Of course I don’t want crazy stiff and hand to drive but I’m not crazy and I realize it’s not going to be super easy to push the pedal with the increased holding power of the new pressure plate.

What do y’all use? What do you like what did you not like? I’ll be installing myself (with the aide of a mechanic friend)
