2011 Release and new options?

Hey everyone,

I'm at that point where I can make my purchase of my camaro. Finally sold my car so it can now happen!

With that being said though, I have heard speculation that the new 2011 Camaro will have some new little much loved options to them (other then the convertible and new colors) and have been debating on holding out on my order for the 2011 to come out or just bite the bullet now and order my 2010.

So does anyone have any speculation on when the 2011 will go into production? I have been told that GM is extending the production of the 2010 version, but I cannot find out what they are pushing it too...

And does anyone know what all new options will be on the 2011 prodution (other then colors and convertible). I cannot dig up any details on this on the web.

Thanks in advance.

Ry

Right now, any changes for the '11 MY is speculation and is what people want for '11. Nothing has been announced and normally MY changes are not announced until the spring before the change over happens.

The change over for the next MY happens during the 1st week of July and orders normally are accepted late July early August.

i would wait for lil bit. what ive been told is that its not a good idea to buy the first year model. as you can see when the camaro first came out there was a lot of problems. 2011they will fix most of the problems and add better parts. i think you will have more options if you wait.

At this point, with winter lurking around the corner, and the prospects of possible improvements, I'd wait.

Actually according to some very trustworthy insiders here on the forums who actually work on the Camaro line, the plant is shutting down in January to add the vert line and production will begin shortly after. The vert will be sold as an '11 and could very well be sold as a '10.

As far as problems with a first model year, my car has been flawless. (VIN 12690) There have been some minor issues and of course the early battery cable issue on the SS. I had a 2005 Mustang GT which was a first model year and it spent the first three months in and out of the dealer with several major issues. I finally sold it with only 17,000 miles on it because I was tired of bringing it back and forth for repair. My point is, GM has hit a home run with this car and the first model year is just as reliable as the next model year will be!

I agree, you not being in a warm weather climate you would likely have to store the car for the winter anyway. I think I'd wait at this point.
