i wrote that rant in here first...

and after watching the video again they only mentioned australia just because it was being built there...my apologies...at the time i was watching the video i was watching the ny giants pre-season game as well and mistook them to be australian regulations

sad though to see that tom peters side lost that battle...glad to see that there was passionate battle...but the suits won that one

oh well the car still looks bad@ss but the height of the car would have made a big difference in my opinion...i'm about to pay peters to custom make my camaro when i get it

no i just spoke too soon and got information wrong...didn't mean to set off a forum war...we all just got over the bitter battle of bumpergate...guess the mods did the right thing by closing it before it created too much damage

but damn i wish peters side won

The few seconds of the silver SS w/stripes looked great.

The first time I've EVER seen stripes that looked truly good on a car. It may not be an option I'll be taking, but they are certainly the BEST looking stripes (design, width and everything) that I've ever seen.

Just watched the Camaro part, it was somewhat informative. I would have liked it to have been a month long series with an hour long episode every night, buuut 7 1/2 minutes will have to suffice. Has the rest of the program gone up on youtube yet?

WOW i dont mean to keep bringing up the SS bumper, and i hope this doesnt get anyone in here all fired up about it again lol, but that shot of the silver camaro at 2:07 and then again at 7:14 (in the youtube vid that someone posted a few posts up) looks like one of the sexiest car front ends ive ever seen on any car that ever existed. i was kinda goin both ways with the bumper before with the previous pictures, but now with this new angle, new color, and having it all cleaned and polished and not covered in test mule dust, i am 100% in love with it! plus, since the first pics of those black mules surfaced, ive been hell-bent on getting a black 5th gen, but holy-crap that thing looks drop dead gorgeous in silver with the black stripes. i might have to make a difficult decision when picking out my

Chevydude26 - Just remember who's Zeta platform gave you the Camaro

If it wasnt for GM Holden Australia, the Camaro wouldn't exist at all.. dont forget that. GM USA killed the camaro and had no RWD platform to build the new one on.

As for roof height - Australian engineers needed to increase the roof height in order to meet FMVSS (US) regulations for head swing and roll over.

The design is actually extremely well optimized (designed to be barely legal)- had it been designed in the US i think the roof would have ended up higher - the US engineers at GM aren't known for executing well optimized cars.
