Yep. I had the same issue, took it back apart and double checked the alignment. Works fine now.

Also, yes I got the Chevy emblem with mine. It was in a bag inside the FOB.

I still have both of my originals and this week I got my 54th
(more or less) recall notice. After 11 years I see no reason
to change it now. Except maybe to stop the post cards.

Anybody else that did this mod, have a gap right here on this edge? I can't seem to get it to go away.

It will go away. Something is not lined up just right as the cover has to basically slide under the chrome piece

Got it, thanks. I don't know if my chip is different or what, but it seemed too thick for the case. I ended up filing a little off one corner and the flat spot right where the gap was. After that, it was able to snap in place. Thanks again!

Hey Pete, Thanks much for taking the time to make your video and explaining things. It answered all my questions. Ordered the fob today (last one). Can’t wait to do it.

More than welcome. The hardest part is getting the old one apart. So do it away from children and pets as things sometimes have a tendency to want to go flying

I just did this and had that issue. The PCB was hanging over where the 2 black plastic halves meet. There is a ton of excess on the edge of the PCB, I just trimmed it down with a dremel on that edge and it slid right together.

Good to know I wasn't the only one that needed to do that. Everyone else's seemed to just go together and I watched as many videos as I could and nobody would show that side so I could see if there was a gap or not lol

I have been getting a service card for 5 years about every 4-5 months,I have a 125k on her,and have the original keys,I’ve had this car 7 years, put one set in a drawer and have not touched them, the set I use still look great,no issues with buttons,or anything else.

Me as well, I tore apart the one that I never touched. The one I use is still brand new but I still like the updated look and the buttons are plastic so it feels more sturdy and it is definitely more stout
