clutch advice

on my way out of town earlier this week for a job interview, relaxing on cruise control i got the worst burning smell coming in to my car i figured might of been a semi truck or someone with overheated brakes or a shredded tire it was a strong burnt rubber smell. get to my destination park come out a hour later after my interview 1 of 3 for the one company. get in my car get ready to leave and my clutch feels very very soft and engages super high up on the peddle now once i got on the interstate and got up to speed slightly up hill that burning rubber smell came back: facepalm:

now for about a year and a half I've suspected clutch slip like a little bit of it nothing that would make me worry. but the other day just going down the street to get some food when i went to start my car up i got a burning rubber smell bad enough to make me get out and pop the hood..its not the belt nothing i could see but the smell got really strong tords the back of the motor.

is there any aftermarket clutch out there that has better life then the stock GM clutch or something out there to help with the aisin AY6 2end gear pop out problem? or maybe a non duel mass flywheel pretty sure if I've driven it to the point it is that might need to be resurfaced or replaced rather just bite the bullet now vs later on down the road.

pretty sure this is the reason for the never gets better then 16 mpg the last year and has kept going down from the 24MPG it use to get, ill need all the MPG i can get once I start work as a Welder.

never needed to give a hoot when driving semi trucks for a living wasn't my job to find clutch replacements on a 2012 peterbilt as a company driver granted it never needed one this is my 1st manual trans car soo i don't really know squat.
