I'm fairly confident we'll have pricing when we have the ability to order, or before.

The timeline I got from the IDL and our ordering guide is:

Pricing - December
Ordering - January
Production - Feb

VW and GM "ordering" are very different. I was told at the dealer, VW does not allow "orders" as we know them here in the states. GM you can actually order the car you want.

Dealerships just want to sell cars. The reason they want to move the car in stock is they are using up the "dealer cash", holdback and advertising GM gives the dealer to finance the car while it is in stock on the lot. They also don't want you changing your mind on the purchase (a sale today is worth 2 orders tomorrow).

And yes Scotty is right on. If they offered $1000 rebate when you order it and the incentive expires while you car is built, then you take delivery, you do NOT get the $1000 rebate. The opposite is true if they add a rebate while it is being built.

I love doing orders...it's like money in the bank. But CamaroScotty is right 6-8 weeks for custom orders. Price is agreed on when the order is placed. And we won't have to worry about rebates on the Camaro...we won't see them for a while.

I will be ordering a car from Berger in MI. I copied my email from them for everyone to read.-
Greetings from one Camaro enthusiast to another. Berger Chevrolet and I are excited about GM’s plans to build the concept Camaro. I believe that I speak for all of us when I say that GM needs to build this car!

Berger delivered over 200 Camaros in 2002 – the last year they were produced. I believe that GM will be extremely generous to us when vehicle allocations are finally made. With this in mind, I would like to offer you an opportunity to purchase a new Camaro from Berger – one of the original Muscle Car Dealers of the 60’s and 70’s.

To place your name on Berger’s Camaro Reservation List, call me direct at 616-293-1850. If you prefer, you can email me at djacques@bergerchevy.com.

We require a minimum down payment of $1,000. This down payment will secure your name on the Camaro Reservation List in the order it is received. Your down payment is fully refundable.

Thank you for your interest in the rebirth of one of America’s true classic automobiles!

As we get information we will send it on to all of you right away so that you will know everything that we do on this exciting car. Also if you hear or receive any information I would greatly appreciate you dropping me an email to djacques@bergerchevy.com so that I can pass it on to everyone.

Here is the information on our show.

To all you car enthusiast we at Berger Chevrolet would like to invite each and everyone to our 9th annual all Chevrolet Show here at Berger Chevrolet. Here is a link to all the information about the show. http://www.bergerchevy.com/CamaroSS/ChevySHOW8.htm We look forward to see each and everyone at the show, even if you do not currently own a Chevrolet please come and check out the one that came. As in the past three years we at Berger Chevrolet have tied our show in with the 28TH Street Metro Cruise. This is the 4TH year for them and each year it is getting BETTER

To all fellow (and ladies) Camaro nuts Here is the latest link to what GM unvealed on 7/21/2008 at 4pm eastern time. http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro/ Check this out it will let everyone know what GM is thinking.

As I get more information I will try to pass it around. Please send me any information that you find. Thank you for your interest.

Please stop by and say HI! Hope the rest of your summer is a safe and great one.

Regards

Dick Jacques

Again, we will not be taking deposits until we find out what the allocation is - we're not the ones that will be giving people who put money down any bad news. Problem here is, with a big list of deposits, and no MSRP OR LESS being stated - you run into a "we have an allocation to order available - the price will be $XXXX over sticker for the first round of orders". That's what the Dodge boys did down the road....a little bidding war between the people waiting for the car. Get a MSRP or LESS up front, BEFORE placing your deposit. You'll be happier in the end!

Man, Scotty! I wish you were in my neck of the woods, with your policy on MSRP or less! I hope to find a dealer that's as fair as you down here.

Scotty is rapidly approaching the front running position for me too.

Scotty, I'd love to talk a little more with you about the process of ordering/purchasing a car from many many miles away. Very new to me...

It's lonely here in Cinti!

I wouldn't mind making the long drive for the MSRP guarantee. It will be good for bonding with my new machine.
