So for the past 10 years gm knew this law was going into effect starting 2021 and did nothing. There's more to this than what's being reported imo

What I can't get is how so many people in California keep voting those left
wing loons in I used to love San Francisco. Couldn't pay me to go here now.

Those right wing loons aren't any better. However, people like to keep voting these clowns in election cycle after election cycle.

All of this eco mentality stuff, that's occuring in Cali right now, wouldn't be so bad if the place wasn't so dang crowded. If the land developers weren't so greedy in their quest to develop every square inch of land into either a housing development, huge business park or outdoor shopping mall plaza, the place wouldn't be so bad.

I miss the old days when it was mostly semi-rural in the outlying areas and houses where of a one story ranch style home. These days, you have these ugly brown two story "commie housing blocs" with those jumbo McMansions sitting on "zero lot lines". It ruins the whole vibe and character of the area and makes you feel very crowded and congested.

That's not to mention the super high density condo and apartment projects they like to plop anywhere and everywhere now. And, don't forget about the huge mile long warehouse style business parks they're building on the vacant land that's left over.

To some degree, I feel kind of sorry for the newer generations, who live here, that never got to experience the special charm that old California had at one time. I sorta caught the tail end of that when I moved here before land development got crazy. I'm glad I got to experience a small part of it. The newer generations will never know that side of California and it's kind of sad IMO.

I used to build new homes. Since I have seen a one day building permit approval to now take 6 months. I have seen 20 feet front and 5 feet side shrink to zero. All in the name of greed. Now days they paint all of the homes the same color. It's just a matter of time before a drunken idiot wanders into the wrong home, biffs the neighbor wife, and then gets shot by an irritated husband. Just because all of the houses are the same color.

Hate to tell you guys but car enthusiasts are a distinct minority, especially in this day and age. Most people couldn’t care less if their car has an ICE, an electric motor or a rubber band. The flip side is that California is one of the most beautiful areas of the country, with a nice variety of climate, amenities and jobs which is the reason why people pay whatever premium to live there as opposed to some of the more “bland” areas of this country. It is what it is. Here in Michigan we have only one toll road, no traffic cams, no HOV lanes, no vehicle inspections and I find it crazy that people in others states put up with that crap.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We take the kids to Disney land 1-2 times a year. I can’t wait to get the hell out of there every time. Fun for a couple days but after that it’s time to go. All the damn traffic everywhere, can’t carry any guns, can’t carry any hidden guns on top of the guns that I can’t already carry. Nope I’m good, if I can’t carry I don’t belong, and that’s just the tip of the ice berg for me as far as Kalifonia goes.

One of the reasons things are so tough on the car community is the car culture in Cali.

You look on TV or the net and see all these crazy kids closing down streets and causing all kinds of trouble. That gives the rest of the car people a bad name and makes it hard on them to do anything.

Do you feel so vunerable that you need to carry all the time? Don't get me wrong. I totally support gun rights and ability to carry (even concealed carry).

However, if we're getting to the point where we feel that we need to carry guns all the time just to feel reasonably safe, I think that's a symptom of a larger problem we have than just protecting gun owner rights, IMHO.

Those ag checkpoints have been around since I was a little kid and I'm 57 now.

The "feel so vulnerable" argument is really a non-starter. I've worn seat belts all my life - not because I think there is a head on collision around every corner, but because they are available to use so why not take precautions and buckle up? It's better to use them and not need them than to need them when they're not in use.

Unfortunately, President Trump already gave it his best shot. The cancer is too far gone. :-(

That's just it. You say "precautions". So, should we all start wearing body armor too? After all, the bad guys have guns too.

If you were ever involved in a situation where you actually had to kill someone, you better lawyer up because the police and the court system is going to rake you over the coals for a murder. Heck, even the police themselves, who are well trained, are put through the ringer when there's a justified shooting with witnesses.

I'm not saying guns don't have their proper uses, but everybody walking around, driving around, running around packing heat kind of worries me a little. I really hope we never get to that point here in the U.S. Unfortunately, it seems like it is.
