Been running the pump for the last year as described in this thread - full on. I had the same noises as you describe, it all came down to priming the pump. In the end, I picked up one of the vacuum tools for getting the air out of the system.

I am assuming that there is some sort of built in overheat prevent device and that by just plugging in +12 to pins 1 and 5 and GND to pin 4, it runs so fast that it overheats and shuts down. It seems that the ECU must modulate the speed of the pump, and that having the pump on 100% of the time full blast is not feasible.

In short, it looks like I either need a new pump or a way to PWM to pin 3 to run less of a speed.

Any thoughts, anyone?
The ZL1 PUMP has load sensing built in as well as over speed sensing built in.

If your coolant is low or you are not primed properly it will shut down.

If you cant get it to work for you I will gladly trade you a New In the box Bosch pump with wiring harness for your ZL1 Pump and connector

Actually I just bled it some more and now it works perfectly. I might post a video of the car on the dyno after the tune! Thanks everyone!

I'm having the same problem with a custom LSA install........Pump turns on for a few seconds then stays off.......It's a new system that seems to be full......But, I can start the car and let it run........No temp change to the Intercooler or hoses........Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance

Ken

After reading this thread.......I have second thoughts about my issue.......First.....I bought a LSA connect and Cruise set-up from GM.....Again.....the Intercooler pump wouldn't turn on........I assumed the pump was bad.......I got another pump under Warranty (had to pay for it till the old one is returned)......when I replaced the pump there wasn't much coolant that leaked out of the system.....I have a large intercooler that is higher than the pump........I just added a reservoir that is higher than the supercharger.........after reading this thread I have to wonder if there is air in the system.........I have been squeezing the lines trying to get any air out, after seeing RP's post it seems I have more work to do and maybe I bought this pump for nothing.........Darn !!!...........Any secrets to bleeding the system ????

Duhhhh!!!!........After reading here about the Air issue........I thought about it....went out and really looked at the system and thinking about it.......I cut the highest line going into the Intercooler and put a capped "T" fitting there ........The Intercooler took about 3/4 of a gallon to fill.........Duhhhh!!!!..........Capped it off, filled the system again from the Reservoir....started the car and everything works perfectly.......Again....If I wouldn't have read this thread........I wouldn't have focused on this issue...

Thanks

Ken

I use this bleeder anytime I am refilling any type of cooling system It pulls a vacuum into the system then sucks in the coolant eliminating any air pockets.

just curious can pins 1&5 be tied together and run off a switched source or does pin5 need constant battery power even when ignition is off?
