Saab 9-3 Aero [LP9] Front Bank not Firing
Hey, guys!
New to the forum here, but I own a Saab 9-3 Aero [6MT, AWD, 2.8T] equipped with an LP9 engine, which is basically* the same architecture as the LLT and LFX engines installed in 5th get Camaros. Long story short, my turbo detonated a while ago, forcing me to rebuild the front bank (1,3,5) of the engine. I have completely rebuilt the front bank, but I'm convinced only the rear bank of the engine is firing: and not the front. I have no clue why and could definitely use some help. I'm hoping maybe someone has some insight. Linked below are my other forum posts if you're interested in reading into the problem a little more: https://www.saabcentral.com/threads/...-b284r.737585/ |

Try this, check compression in all the cylinders. 130 is too low so I'm guessing you have the cam timing wrong.

Is it super feasible for only half the engine to be in time? If so, it's also an interference engine, so I imagine it can't be super out of time... Is a tooth or so out of time enough from stopping the engine from firing?
But I haven't checked compression on the other cylinders since I originally rebuilt the engine last summer. So I can give that a shot |

If course, its possible only one cam is out of time on these.
