Added Rake
After tirelessly searching the web and asking on there there is no aftermarket parts to add rake without lowering the front. I didn't want to do that I wanted to raise the rear and using a generic airbag kit was not something I wanted to do. So I did what any car lover would do I made my own. I first machined a 1" flat shim to go on top of the strut but that kicked the angle of the strut out too far to get the lower bolt in. I made a second set that tapered from 1" on the outside to 1/2" on the inside. These fit perfectly and everything lined right back up. When all was said and done that gave me almost 2" more rake to the car. I know it's not a popular mod, obviously since there is nothing aftermarket being made, but it's what I think these cars should look like. It gives it more of a classic muscle car look rather than a supercar look that drags on the ground. I still may put lowering springs on the front to give it even more but that is too be determined.......

It's way too much IMO. Also, the rear wheel not being centered in the wheelwell would drive me nuts. If you do a rake, make it ever so slight. That's what looks best on these cars IMHO.

Time for some bigger tires now to help fill out the well.
I did this on my old monte and loved the look, but on these cars I prefer slightly lowered and even.

Air shocks is what was used back in the day. Shackles too on leaf springs. It was done to keep the tires from scrubbing on the fender when wide tires were used and hung out past the fender. Ahhhh the good old days.

I have seen some Camaros where it looks like the rear is slightly lower than the front. Not a fan of that look. I lowered mine even all the way around to where I can just fit a finger in between the top of the tire and the wheel well. I mean I used a micrometer to adjust the coilovers, but this was the result.

Not to mention you will probably experience more wheel hop not that the weight is raised more to the front, and not centered as designed.

The lines of the car just don't work with it. Imho.

I agree with you a little rake looks better! I also agree that going a little bigger in tire will complete the look.
Wish I had the engineering skills to do this!

Sweet! You got lucky there. Hey, as long as you like it and it drives right then it's all good. I think it looks good and makes her look mean.
