Hi All,
First post. Just bought a 2011 RS 2LT. Has anyone replace the tensioner? Looks like just 2 bolts, but is there any precaution before removing? Idler pulley looks bad. Any help / info would be great. Thanks |

I’d say just be careful not to move the tensioner past it’s built in “stop tab” when releasing the belt. I’ve seen a few of those stop tabs get broken by too much leverage, mainly on aftermarket parts though. You should be able to buy just the tensioner pulley, I think, if the tensioner itself is fine. Make sure there’s no fine cracks in the belt while it’s off. Sometimes it’s hard to get a good look at them when they’re installed. Good luck!

Here’s the instructions from the Haynes manual with the LLT picture at far left. Torque spec on the tensioner bolts is only 18 ft-lbs, so go easy on the ratchet.
