Well... I have a buddy, actually a member (GC-Camaro) who I have spoken too and he says its pretty easy and the instructions are really detailed. You have to remove the interior bezel around the shifter. It just clips on and a steady pull, not a yank, and it comes off. The shift knob he said is just a pretty good tug. There are no screws, it is just pressed on and he says it comes off fairly easy. The tricky part is the mounting screws need to be installed from under the vehicle and you have lo loosen NOT REMOVE the trans crossmember. He said jsut loosen it to allow the tranny to drop enough to get your hands up in there. He said starting the bolts is the hardest part. 2 guys did it in 1.5 hours and they are not mechanics.

I will let you know after I put mine it. My pops and I are doing it next time I am in Youngstown. We wrench on our cars together. Well actually I wrench on his and my car while he watches and helps a little! last thing we did to his car was full brake upgrade to stainless lines, slotted rotors and new pads. Here is a pic of his car and mine from the weekend of the Summit in Akron. 2007 GT 5 speed, saleen s/c and lots of other crap. 480 dynoed at the wheels. It is a beast if you can get it to hook.

Man, I should have checked in here earlier. I found out late you guys did a Hocking drive... and I live in Hocking Hills!

Oh well, I won't miss out next time.

How many 5th gens were on the cruise anyway? ... my daughter mentioned she saw several parked at Old mans cave.

Hey RickF! Welcome to our family here!

I wasn't able to go on the Hocking Hills drive so someone else will have to answer your question. However, we are hoping to have other outings and to get together a few times over the winter - if only to keep those of us who put up our cars from going crazy :-)

Welcome again!

Welcome and sorry I missed you Rick. I guess I am the self appointed events cooridinator. I tried to find all the Ohio members but thats tough. Keep up on this thread. This is where all the cruise ideas start.

There were 6 cars at Hocking and we did stop at Old Man's Cave, all parked together. We did see one more, black ss with white hockey stripes (no hood stripe) at Old Man's cave. This is not Old man's Cave, this I believe was Rock House.

Sorry you missed it, next time for sure!

LadyinBlue -- Thanks for the welcome!
It will be tough this winter! I'll put mine up when the first salt goes down.

JR -- No sweat, my fault for not checking in here.

Nice pic... 6 new Camaros, I bet that group attracted alot of attention!

Again, wish I could have been there, I know some great roads/ routes around the hills for scenery and up, down, winding, turning fun.

Anyway, I'll certainly keep watch for any other events that pop up!

Welcome! First thing I thought when I saw your post was, "Yours isn't black, is it?"

Maybe Bartking and I can give rides on one of our get-togethers. I think we're the only ones in this bunch driving our Camaros year-round.

Welcome! everyonce and awhile my wife and I rent a cabin in hocking hills at Red rock cabins... it's not very camaro friendly though since you go down a somewhat steep rock covered driveway to get to them.

I'd love too drive someone around. Especially with some snow on a parking to do some donuts. Got to test the snow and ice tires somehow

Hey to all,
I was on way home from Wright-Patt today and was headed east on 235 and around the bend came a Red jewel with white hood strips, is that one of the folks on the forum? It looked like the one from JR's post at the cave. Sure looked good, Female driver, I think. I only got a quick glance.

Not me, unless my daughter got it out of the garage and drove to Dayton.

LOL when my daughter learns to drive, I think I'll hold off on teaching her to drive stick.

Don't do that. Teach her early. Infact teach her on a standard. Maybe not the Camaro but if she learns on a standard she will be much more in tune with driving and less in tune with eating, texting, reading, etc... while driving. Her ninja skills will only get her so far! Plus then when shes 27 her husband won't have to teach her!

LOL! Well, the '99 Firebird she's getting is an automatic, so probably what I'll do is let her learn that first, then teach her stick on a cheap car no one cares about. Worked for me - my mom taught me at 17 on an '80 Citation.
