Got the car back yesterday afternoon. No sound when I drove it off the lot and no sound this morning. Sounds like it's fixed to me. We'll see if it stays that way.

Is this VIN specific? Went to a local dealer and was told there is only an HVAC reprogram bulletin for my vehicle. But i do have that noise.

No. Give him the TSB number and have him pull it up. Or better yet, print out this thread and make him read it.

Does anyone have pictures of the fix that the dealer does on this? I read a post that some clamps on the hose didn't look so good. I'm not sure I want to "fix" the noise. It's not bothersome to me.

Thanks

Here you go...straight out of the TSB. The "worm" clamps are circled in red.

Thanks for the pic. Is there any other consequence of getting this "fix"?

if u are concerned about the ugly worm-clamps, just snip the extra tongue and wrap the hoses again like before. I'll be doing that soon. I am not sure what long term effect could happen by not getting it done but I doubt its bad. It is just the sound of the coolant gurgling around, nothing bad.

Picked mine up this afternoon. dropped it off the night before they had it done by noon. I'm not sure how I feel. The major noise is now gone but there is a more consistent less annoying noise...which is definitely better. It almost sounds like the car is still trying to make the noise but it's just muffled. This is just driving me nuts because my cobalt has a perfectly silent HVAC system so I'd expect a state of the art Camaro to not make sounds like a compressor is kicking on and off even when all the climate control is off. Granted this could all be normal but I will forever be listening to the HVAC system praying that that noise will never return.
What I really would love to do is drive in another 2SS M6 and see what noises it also makes. Probably the only real test to see if something weird is going on or things are perfectly normal.

On a good note now if you smash your foot down on the gas the exhaust notes are the loudest thing inside the car

It could be that you had been so tuned-in to the noise that even now, your mind expects it to be there and substitutes another noise for it and make you believe it is still the same thing. Even before I got the TSB done, the noise was so subtle that low volume music easily drowned it out. The TSB worked for me but I know, if I intently listen for the noise now, I know I will hear something and think it is still there. I don't pay attention to it anymore...helps the sanity.

My dealer did this while I waited. I was out in 15 minutes including test drive. Noise is gone. It was painless...

Hey guys, I have the same issue. Dropped the car off at the dealer friday and mentioned I heard there was a TSB on this issue. They drained the coolant, and rebled it. I left with it making just as much noise as it was when I dropped it off.

I'm going to go back monday and mention this again.

I hope this fixes it as the noise is very annoying to me.

Guys who have had this done has it seemed to fix your issue long term? or did the noise come back?

Nope. Only drove noiseless for about two days.
