6.2L LS3 376/480 Swap

Hey what’s up everyone!

Man.... haven’t been here in a long while... a lot has changed from what I’ve seen lol. So my 2010 SS 6 speed manual has a blown engine. It’s pretty bad and beyond repair... I’ll have to get a new motor. I was advised to get a used 6.2L LS3 like the one I had.... but I’m looking to go another route. I’m seriously considering getting the 6.2 L LS3 376/480 motor. I know it’s a bit pricey, but I like the set up on it😎 So this will be a dumb question but I’ll ask anyway.... will I have to swap out the stock transmission on my SS for something more durable to compensate for the power increase? Or will the stock tranny hold up? All input is greatly appreciated❤️

Yes your stock tranny will handle that without any issues just as Banana said. Good luck and keep us posted.

If you are going to spend that kind of money, get a LSX376 B-8.

I recently purchased a C5 Z06 with this same engine installed for the previous owner by Vengeance Racing in GA. Plenty of power, nice cam lope, strong pull up to 6500 RPM. It dyno'd 429 HP at the rear skins which is plenty for me. One of the big questions is what is your intention with the vehicle? Might want to do a new clutch while you're spending cash, I've got an LS7 clutch in the Vette but it has the less desirable T56 gear-box. You'll get various opinions from the very knowledgeable folks here but I can tell you I'm happy with it and I think it would be GREAT in your Camaro.

I appreciate it everyone thank you thank you! I will definitely keep you all posted I’m definitely leaning towards getting that engine. It’s a little increase in power... but I’m good with having it close to 500 hp
