it seems that the bottom line is its probably cheaper to keep and maintain your car than to buy a new one as long as you still like what you have...but in sweden who knows about parts?

Unfortunately in that 12 years and 240,000 miles there have been a incidents (mostly when it was parked). the only original paint is the Hood, Roof, Trunk Lid and Rear Spoiler. But it still looks awesome when it's cleaned and waxed.

This is encouraging. Mine is 102K and has been parked for 5 weeks. So no mile. But soon I hope to return to work at 50 miles per day or 250 per week. This will ad 13000 over the next year but still miles away from 250K. Congratulations to all who have been able to make it to the 100,000 mile club.

Factory suspension parts have been a bear to get here in the US. The number of hours I've spent looking for rear mounts and isolators would have paid for an entry-level set of coil-overs by now.

The car has treated me very well.

Can I ask what prompted you to change the control arm? I am having an issue with the passenger side front and that may be my problem.

Thanks.

You have two LCAs on both sides. A forward, and rearward. I got a set of
Mevotech ones, and they were thicker than the OEs. I got 60,000+ miles on
them already... I also put Whiteline bushing inserts in the forward LCAs.
IF they have been in there for a long time, you may need an air-fork tool
to get the ball joint studs out. They say to hammer them out, well, mine
would not come out at all, even with a 10lb sledge. So, I had to get the air
tool, put the ball-joint fork on to get then separated. DO not beat on the
knuckle either, they're aluminum...

Thanks.
I kept hearing and feeling a "clunkity clunk" when I would enter my steep sloped driveway. Son in law got under there and discovered one of the bushings was so worn out he could move the arm back and forth about 3/8 of an inch just by grabbing it and shaking it. It was in bad shape. I replaced it with a Moog and it has been trouble free ever since.

This is all great news as I've noticed the staying power of this car after only having it 2 years(2014 w/ 52k) by reading this forum. Congrats to all of you that have kept them going.

Some parts, but not all. I'm at 150K so with my pedders shocks and struts I'm doing F&R top mounts and all spring isolators; those seem to be OEM only--not even Moog seems to want to make isolators. A lot of those have been discontinued by GM, and now they're impossible to find. I've had multiple orders cancelled because the front lower isolators don't exist anymore. I'm actually replacing them with some high-durometer rubber sheet I found laying around at work.
