"AC OFF DUE TO HIGH ENGINE TEMPS"....**FIXED**

I had the cooling system flushed two weeks ago and the car's been running great. But this morning on the way home from work, I got that message, but the car wasn't showing any signs of overheating.

The dash gauge was at dead cold, and the reading in the DIC was " -- " showing no reading at all, not even ambient temperature.

The coolant level in the radiator and overflow bottle is full and the coolant is clear.

I'm taking the car to the shop that did the work first thing in the morning when they open to have them look at/fix it.

I'm just wondering if the coolant temp sensor went bad, or came disconnected. Could that cause the readings I'm getting and the DIC message?

***FIXED***

Turns out it was a bad thermostat. The one they put in when they did the coolant flush was faulty and was stuck ALL the way open. So instead of being too hot, the engine wasn't running up to temperature. For some reason this triggered the computer and set off the DIC message, though why running cool would trigger a 'running hot' error, who knows?

Anyway, they installed a new t-stat and gaskets, topped off the coolant and I was good to go. For a grand total of $0.00 dollars. Gotta love warranty work.
