I see a ton of V6 Mustangs, a lot of people aren't that concerned about performance they just like the look/name. I'm sure it is the same for the Camaro.

nothing wrong with the V6. I grew to like the 3800 V6 in the 4th gen actually.

They're not the same car under the hood as a police interceptor unit, but I know what you meant here

I'm only 2 years ahead of you in the age department, but got the v8. Don't let the haters get to you--you made a wise choice and got the badass car on the block without breaking the bank Not to mention, that's one HUGE leap above what you're driving now!

Good call too, with insurance--hopefully having the v6 vs the v8 helped, since you're in the under 25 bracket.

I get the same thing with my 2SS/RS "A6" Camaro. I ordered an automatic for the ease of driving and besides its just as fast as the stick shift. These Camaros come in different configurations, colors, etc for a reason. You got to learn to ignore the A/holes out there and enjoy you car.

I personally would never get a V6(unless it had some turbos= torque), I've always liked the torque of V8's and that's it for me. But I'm older, over 40 and I like my coffee a certain way, I like my steak a certain way, and my women a certain way, and thats that.

The late 1980's Buick Grand Nationals changed a lot of peoples' minds about V6's

I'm older also, over 50 and had a new 1st and 2nd gen both with v8's, so been there done that .... Now that I'm older I like my women and cars, both built for comfort rather than speed ....

When I picked up my LT from the detailer, some guy pulled up in a new Lexus and raced over to look at my car as I was going to get in it.

He asked what engine, and I said 3.6 V6. Then he says "Looks good for a 6." I just laughed and said.."it just looks good period." Then I drove off while he stared LOL.

Like I've said before on this forum...this 3.6 puts out v8 like power. Good enough for me.

People like to gripe. Now I got the V-8 because I plan on keeping the car 15-20 years and wanted what may be one of the last great V-8 cars. But people are always bugging me since I got auto my car is not a real muscle car.

Then I find the Youtube video of the V-6 auto beating the GT 500. Guy in the 500 missed a gear and V-6 Camaro beat him. I will not miss a gear with my auto!!

As I have stated many times on here, had I been forced to use this car as a daily driver, the V-6 would have been my choice hands down.

To me the "hating" is just not warranted.

Regardless, you decide to buy what best meets your needs. The fact that it is a Camaro is an added bonus.
