Im sorry to hear that...and as stated earlier, that SUCKS it was in our area...I had my 01' SS stolen from me here in Baton Rouge TWICE!! Final trip of it was taken to New Orleans and stripped down to the frame and burned...

Im really nervous about my caring be down here. I thought about getting a car cover, but seems to me that would attract more attention?

I dont think a cover would attract more attention. You'd have to be a bold mofo to go up to a car, look under the cover, uncover it, damage it and get away.

Its a deterant. Easier to mess up a car thats exposed than one thats covered.

But maybe where you live you have to worry aout that kind of stuff, which sucks.

A gate and a bright light shinning on the driveway at night goes a long way.

There was another thread I told this story on, but some teenagers keyed my moms and my car. We put up a camera the next day and I stayed up all night once the car was repainted. Kids came back that night (caught on camera damaging a neighbors car) and I chased one down the street with an old wooden broom handle and beat him pretty good with it. Called the police and had his parents pay the bill for both cars.

Shiz happens but if you really want to nip things in the butt (and your pilice dept. doesnt suck) just call them out whenever you see suspiscious people wandering around or when you see people who don't look like they live in the area. Eventually the police will get it and start patrolling in the area more often, especially after curfew.

Sorry to hear about the paint damage. That's why im glad my car has a garage to live in now!

That's just sickening when you cant even feel safe to drive home. I recently attained a Concealed Carry Permit for the state of Va, and just bought my first CC gun, a Springfield XD 9mm Subcompact for that reason exactly. You never know when some nut job has chosen you to be his sacrificial lamb. Or some punks think you look like an easy target. Put a gun in their face and tell them to back off, they'll think twice before they mess with the next person!

Guns aren't much use when you're asleep in your house and some loser with nothing better to do than drive around in the middle of the night eggs the car.
Had it done to my 68' when i was a teenager. Right around the door handle. It etched into the paint. My brother's and dad's cars had it happen last year. Fortunately i don't think it did permanent damage.

I'm absolutely sure shooting someone for egging your car (what this thread is originally about, right?) will be looked down upon pretty badly in court - good luck with the 'protecting my property' using deadly force plea.

Not sure about the exact intentions on this thread after reading the original post but w/e.

I'm all for the 2nd amendment, but take it glocktalk plz.

I keep mine at a secure location. Never park it, downtown Toronto, movie theatres or questionable areas. I bartend on weekends and the Sunfire takes the dents and puke lol.

Ahh but in Texas we can use deadly force to protect property and life at night. Even if someone TP's your house or eggs your car on your property. look it up falls under Sec. 9.42. Deadly Force to Protect Property Texas penal code. (criminal Mistchief)

Just remember "Dead men tell no tales".

Actually even though I have a CCW permit I would only use a gun to defend myself or family. Living with a dead person on my conscience for vandalism would be too much for me.

I purchased a Taurus Judge anti-carjack system for my Camaro SS.
How can I find out if these laws exist in Florida? To be honest, even though it's nice having "the" attention getter right now, it sure is bringing quite a bit of unwanted attention too. I currently work in an office located in the same lot as a pretty big shopping mall. Just about every day, I find new greasy hand and nose/cheek prints on my damn windows which need to be washed because you can't see through that crap at night and in the rain. Just 2 days ago, at a friends house who I was visiting, we look out his window and some damn guy pulled up from the street, parked and started circling the car. I had NO problem with that... until the bastard started leaning up on it to see inside and let his two kids climb up on top of it. I've even had a couple of people FOLLOW me into gas stations as well as home to "see the interior"...

The thing that has finally done it for me was having some random dude, wearing a "thug" shirt down to his knees, dressed in full black and a cigarette in one hand and the other in his pocket, follow me out of a convenience store and pretty much jump in front of me while opening the door to check out the inside of my car with my girlfriend sitting alone in the passenger side. Keep in mind, this is in miami beach, at night, in a near empty parking lot. I lucked out he wasn't looking for something out of me other than just a tour of the interior...

I think we all need to have a custom machine gun that lifts up out of the sun roof with the push of a button on our keys haha

They got us too.

Ours was egged last Friday night in the driveway. So much for a good neighborhood!! We got the egg itself off, but there's four different impact points on the bumper near the license plate, one on the upper and one on lower drivers side quarter panel. Sux. I can't buff it out and have no idea what could fill it. I know Z5 won't. :-(. Filed a police report, and know who did it, but I guess those are the breaks. Anyone know a good paint guy?
