First mods to make
I have a 2013 SS convertible that is bone stock. I don’t want to race it, but would like to wake it up a little. Looking for some suggestions for add ons with a budget in the $500-$1,000 range.
I haven’t started to ask local for shops in my area (Indianapolis). Thinking maybe there are some bolt ons I could consider ? Keep in mind I know less than nothing about where to start. Thanks in advance. |

Cold air intake, long tube headers, and a tune. With a $1k max budget you'll have to go budget on the items, but get a quality tune. You don't want a bad tune.

That’s a good start. My favorite mod so far was the 3.91 rear though. It definitely counts as “waking the car up”.

If had a $1000 to mod I would go with a muffler delete and a dyno tune. And get that afm crap disabled with the tune.

Cold air intake, long tube headers and a tune do wonders. K&N cold air and Texas speed long tubes are budget friendly and quality and so is a tune by dyno Steve. Best part is with his tune it’s free lifetime updates whenever you add something else.

The only problem I see for the op is he said he only wanted to spend $500-1000 and that would put him over. And I know everyone likes dynosteve but the experience of the dyno tune is such a cool thing and you could be leaving horsepower on the table as I came to find out with gpi. Dyno tune is around $500 and the muffler delete I'm sure would be under $500 at a muffler shop and maybe if the muffler shop is cheap enough you could still get a cai.

Drop the$1000 cap. Your going to need a little more to help with your goals. Cai...headers and tune are most most common mods done to the car.Its a good start but will be more then your set budget.

Best starting mod is a fully built motor and a blower. Fell send baby. You only live once

First thing to think about is smog rules, and is it easy to reverse. Things change and even though you might not care, it could be implemented in your area or if you sell or trade the car.
