Tire recommendations for new wheels
So I finally ordered my wheels after having my car since 2016. I ordered a set of Gloss Black MRR M017s in 10/11" sizes, 20 inch with the standard +23/+43 offset.
I am currently running Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s on all 4 corners in the stock 245/275 sizes. To save money, my plan is to move the 275/40's from the rear to the front on the new wheels. They still have plenty of meat on them as I rarely spin em. But that leaves me needing something for the rear 11s. I really want to stay with a matched tire AND cannot stop obsessing over finally having my chance to get some 315s on the back. Issue is, Firestone doesn't make that tire in 315, but they do make 305/35s in the Firehawk Indy 500. The best part is they are semi affordable at $278.99 each. I prefer to not spend more than $650 for a set of 2 tires if possible. I have been looking at other brand 315/35 tires but I'm not sure what would be the best way to do this. Should I just stay matched and just go with the 305/35 Indy 500's (Have been a really great tire), or should I go with something else in the 315 size to satisfy my massive tire desire? Been looking at a lot of other tires in the 315 size but not really sure what is the best blend of affordability and performance. Is mixing the tires really a bad idea or should I stop worrying about that? Are 315's much wider than the 305's or is it minimal? Obviously trying to stay with a Summer tire, as that is what the Indy 500s are. Side note, tires are not my expertise as you may have noticed. My incoming wheels for those that don't know the MRR M017s. They are the rep version of the 6th gen 1LE wheels:

Just stick with indy in 305 - i also prefer matching tires, unless you are running a drag pack on the rear. The 305s will look much wider then the 275s so you will be happy.

I would go with the 305 as well. You wouldnt even be able to notice the difference anyway. There will still be a bunch of meat out back! Also love the gloss black 1le's. I have oem ones and ive thought about getting them powdercoated.

I would do your best to keep the tires matched if you can. The 305's I think I saw are only 10mm narrower than the 315's. Also they will look pretty fat out back even though they are "only" 305's. lol. I have run the Conti Extereme Contact DWS06's ever since I have had my Camaro and love them. Had MPSS 335/30/20's on my 11.5" Ferrada's out back and the 275/40's Conti's on the Ferrada's 10.5 on the front and they both played nicely together.

I have the 305 BFG's on the back and I wanted 315 but they don't make them in 315 either. So I went ahead and stuck with the 305. I would give you a picture of them but it doesn't do it justice. They are pretty meaty though.

Only 10 mm narrower which is just over 3/8". Putting it in perspective, you can barely notice the difference between 305s and 315s.

Alright, well I think that pretty much settles it. I will save money this way as the Firestones are fairly inexpensive compared to some of the top tier brands.
Thanks everyone. 305's it is!

I have no issues with 305 drag radials.
I also have a set of 305's for $100 but the shipping would kill the price.

What you will notice is that the 305/35 is a smaller diameter than the 275/40. Not right now but if you replace the fronts later it will stand out like a sore thumb.

What’s great about the 275/40-20 & 315/35-20 combo is they are the exact same diameter.

So is this noticeable on the sidewall if you aren't looking for it, or is it more of a 'if you know' thing? Is it minimal or a big difference?

I have the 305/35 and the 275/40 combo and to me it's barely noticable.
