Can you stay in Automatic Predictive Shift Mode?

I love the aggressive mode that kicks in when you're cornering hard and hate that it shuts down after a straightaway or bit of low speed driving.

Is there any way to get the program to stay in the more aggressive sport mode?

The first time mine when into that mode I was surprised and thought I screwed the trans up. I had no idea it was adaptive to that degree.

Personally, I wouldn't want that behavior all the time. I thought it was just a bit too aggressive. It was automatically blip downshifting (engine braking) up to very high rpms, and I still had my L99 with the AFM lifters at the time, so it made me nervous. I assume that is why it's only lasts for a short bit of time. I also found it to be wildly unpredictable. I use my Tap Shift to accomplish similar behavior, but it gives me full control.

I understand that you were not asking for opinions on this, just figured I would throw my own experience into the conversation, that's all.

Still stock, no tune yet.

That thread is helpful but does not address if there is a way (cheat?) to keep it in "adaptive mode" if you want to.

I'd like my Drive to act like M/S and I'd like M/S to be the adaptive mode when I choose.

I have no use for "Drive" as it is. I never use it...

Yeah, I hear you there. I never have mine in regular Drive either. But I tend to use Tap Shift nearly 100% of the time.

A good tuner could probably make the changes I'm after. Who knows about that kind of stuff?

Yea, I never use "drive" either, always "sport/manual" for me, that way it is the most aggressive mode in sport, and I can use the manual function anytime I wish. And yes a good tuner will be able to help you out. Check with "dyno Steve" a vendor on here and he should be able to get you all set. Also the question you asked in another thread you started, our cars do not have and inertial sensors for cornering as such, but the only inertial sensors on our cars is for the airbag deployment systems. The cornering sensors might be had on the ZL1/1LE models or the ZR1 Corvette since they are track ready cars, but doubt it, and the IMSA cars and such as they compile all that data/telemetry to set the cars up for racing at each track.

In my Sedan SS I've seen it come up twice. Mine says "Performance Shifting Active", but I can never seem to be able to force it at will. The system has a mind of it's own.

Stay on the gas pedal!

I always drive mine in Sport mode as well but the computer decides when to hold the shifts or up shift. You probably want an even more aggressive hold but I agree with the others that the only way to achieve that is with the paddle shifts.

Gas was $3.80/gallon last time I hit the pump, so yeah, I use Sport Mode conservatively for now. I have no idea what the MPG difference is between the two modes, but I'll take every drop of gas I can keep at the moment.

That is until another knucklehead with a "sporty" Camry tries to pull that stunt again...
