Blend doors on these cars are weak but the motors are really big and break the doors easily leaving you with either heat or A.C. Most will set it twice a year for for A.C. or heat and then unplug it so it isn't constantly applying over-torque on a badly designed plastic door.
The dealer repair involves removing the windshield and dash then replacing with the same cheap plastic door for two grand plus. Once you learn where the plug is its easy tho. If its stored winters you just leave it on A.C. and never plug it back in.

Now I am also curious... Where do you unplug this? I daily drive my 2014 and haven't had any issues yet, but would like to prevent any future problems.

From the drivers position look down towards the gas pedal and reach just under the lower dash panel and you will feel the plug mounted vertically. Only one side of the plug has those irritating lock tabs thankfully because there's no room for another hand since its a super tight fit.

Got my A.C. set two notches to the right of max before i unplugged it.

Mine went and my regular repair shop did the repair by cutting the box, replacing the broken door with a stronger one and then plastic welded the box for about $200 I think. Zero issues since.

I think many here would like more info on this "stronger door".
To date i don't know of anyone making such, at least not mass produced anyhow.
