I never imagined I'd have to go so all-in on these things.

I got my rights to seat well, broke off the factory clip "locking tab" on my harness. They went on, heard a click, I can't get them on further. Bulb still wont illuminate. I'm gonna throw on the D2H to see if that helps but now I just gotta get my car back to drivable.

I was apprehensive to try the included harness as it says "do not use with halogen systems/for HID only" but if I can slip it on without cutting anything, and it wont break anything, I guess I can try it. I'll email VLAND for new harnesses which sucks, they were very unresponsive, unhelpful and kept braggadocios about how plug and play they were.

Hoping I can fix this later in the week after I get them both in and the fender locked down again, for now I just need a car again, I'm outta ideas.

Thanks for showing me how you did it with the HID harness, you're more ballsy with wire cutters than I am. Maybe the $120 DRL harness will fix both these problems, I just wish I knew before I ordered them.

My sequential LED taillights just arrived today, they cant be more difficult than this. VLAND/YUANZHENG /HODOR seem very hit and miss, which...I was reluctant in the 1st place but they look so good.

Really appreciate all your input. I still feel like it's worth it but every new hiccup is so frustrating.

Yup! Those are the ones. Got them from retrofit. I've never read any bad reviews on them; the two sets in tandem should be sweet!

Do you think trying the HID harness adapter without cutting anything is dangerous at all? I don't wanna damage anything, they have it stamped all over to not use with stock halogen setups like mine. But it's my last option to try before waiting for, who knows how long, for an answer from them.

Enjoy your tail lights, hope they go in for both of us, easier than this job.

My halogen lights harness is different from yours so don't try to use it, connecting directly like that with a multimeter try finding the positive and negative wires then use the wire clamps to hook onto the adapter green being positive and black negative parallel from eachother the most that can happen is you blow the fuse in the fuse box compartment, I was looking at your connection harness did it seat all the way in or just partially? If not your definitely going to need the harness because your Led headlights should of lit up they need to be completely in contact

Wow. Yeah...I may try that later, but I'm doubtful, I really don't wanna buy a multimeter and hunt for voltages. Would've taken this to an installer if I knew it'd be this much work, and it shouldn't be. I knew the DRL was gonna be problematic but there's nothing "plug-and-play" about needing to figure out voltages on their "harness" and splice.

I emailed VLAND, hoping they get back to me with a cypher for their communicating and the least bit of help. Gonna swap buls, see if I can get the harness on further and try the other side. For now I just wanna get it all back on so I can see the 3-4rwhp I gained with this intake scoop, lol.

Hope all goes well , but everything I have purchased being Chinese made always needed to be modified despite it saying plug and play.

Thanks again for all your help!

Yeah, it's what I figured. And here I thought I'd merely have to hack to get the "DRL" to work as actual DRL.

A damn shame because these look absolutely insane and modernize the gen 5. Still wish I had your 6gen fender.

Cheers man!

"...and when alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept. For there were no more worlds left to conquer." - Hans Gruber; Die Hard.

I flipped the h11 connectors around, last thing. Boom. H11 illumination.

Pretty sure I'm not messing with a damn thing for a while, lol. On to the tail lights! Thanks again.

Thanks. Longer job than I expected. I have no idea, is it somewhere in the wheel well? I put it all back together.

DRL

Been following this thread and wanted to discuss the DRL issue. Once I solved the connector engagement problem I did encounter the DRL not coming on issue. Inside the VLAND light assembly is a black/white wire harness with a connector.

I disconnected this plug and the DRL works continuously and only goes out during turn signal activation.

Does anyone know the life on these DRL's before they burn out? I only turn them on mid-day
