Long tube headers and emissions
I have to ask, since this seems to be the most popular bolt on for hp gain. How are you guys passing emissions in your state? I know the rules vary by state, I live in CT where it is pretty strict.

The tune afterwards does it.

After you install the headers you leave out the rear o2 sensors and like Flyingbananass said you get the check engine light turned off with a tune.

Its not a problem if you have a good tuner and your jurisdiction only does OBD2 port testing.
If you need to have a visual inspection you will fail. If you get pulled over(MTO in Ontario) you will get fined and get a fix it order.

I passed in Pennsylvania and in St. Louis area in Missouri where they were pretty strict. I have high flow cats and had my car tuned. The only comment I ever got was a compliment on the ceramic coating on my headers. I started sweating bullets when I went in for my first emissions check after my cam swap, but I passed with flying colors.

It depends on your exhaust system with the GM performance exhaust the the headers connected to the cats no turning off or removing of the o2 sensors.

If your worried, get Hi-Flow Cats. I enjoy sleeping at night and not stressing over the car.

I agree. That's why I got cats with my TSP exhaust system because I didn't want to worry about it.

You guys that went high flow cats to not have to worry about it, does that mean you have O2 sensors still and they are not just tuned out?
I would like to go the same path and not have to worry, but actually have it meet and not just ignore the O2 sensors (understand a tune would still be required). Not sure it is possible with the LT's and high flow cats. Trying to look on the forums here, but haven't found anyone explicitly saying this. Also, if it is possible, is the power gains still worth it? Or does it drag it down a bunch, restricting things?

I have long tubes, and high flo cats. Both rear o2's connected and operating. No tune. Been through emission inspection twice without a problem.

Im in Long Island NY. Im running TSP LTS, no cats and Borla Atak. I pass every year. The tune keeps the CEL off. They dont do visual here but even if they did, the TSP catless connections look like Hi-Flo cats
