BCM went to sh!t. Here’s why.

This was going on,

https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=593080

Here’s what happened. Around six years back I installed the fog light conversation harness from gen5diy. Around four years ago, the fog lights wouldn’t turn off. Water got in the relay and bridged the connectors causing the lights to stay on, however dim they were.

I changed the relay and waterproofed everything very well…no way was any water getting in again.

Fast forward to threeish weeks ago. The same thing happened. I immediately took the relay off and it was full of black water. It simultaneously caused system failures all over the car. Brights, blinker, trunk, horn…you name it.

Took it do a dealerships, problem diagnosed as BCM and corrected.

I have no beef with gen5diy. They make fine products.

I paid $942.96 at a GMC dealership. I took it there because there was a car electrical specialist I trusted.
