Hi all, I know it's been a while since this post was active, but I have a question. I have a 2011 Camaro SS. The car came with 1 x working flip key/fob. I live in the UK and have purchased another flip key/fob from the US matching up the FCC ID. I have cut the key at a locksmith. I cannot seem to program the fob. I tried the "holding down unlock" method, but I do not get the doors to perform the unlock/lock cycle after releasing the button. I tried the 2nd method, old key in ignition and out then new key in...but only get the theft error. Can you please tell me if you can recommend another way to self program my spare key ? There are no Chevrolet dealerships in the UK now, so I might need to try and do this myself. If I try the method where I have no keys working, ie the 30 minute method, will the old key work at the end of this process ? I'm just worried about not having any working keys if I try this. Much appreciate any advice anyone can give me.

Also make sure you have the right fob. There are so many fobs out there that some do not work at all or only partially. Make sure you have bought the correct fob for starters, 315MHz in the the U.S. and Japan, and 433.92MHz in Europe. I have bought a fob before from China that supposedly was correct MHz and had same OEM number but still could not program so there is always that possibility as well.

Thanks for the advice. I am guessing the fob is not the right mhz. The retailer sold me a 315mhz one which I thought would work as I recently changed a TPMS sensor and that was 315mhz not 433, so assumed the same for the keyfob. Am I wrong ? Retailer was https://www.carandtruckremotes.com/ The guy was messaging me asking for all the details of the original one and said the one he sent me was definitely the right one.

got mine here: https://www.remotesandkeys.com/ you have to make sure you get the right one as they look the same but are not. there is a serial number on the fob that tells you which one to look for. otherwise, it will not work.

Thanks for your reply, yes I took all the numbers on the fob and passed them to the retailer to check. They were confident that the new fob matched the old one.
