car gets payed off this weekend (not keeping my 5thgen)

well the 2012 Camaro gets payed off this weekend. and i have given it a lot of thought. I've been given the opportunity to make 9500$ and I'm going to take it and move on.

I have mixed feelings my last 4 years of ownership with the car tell I got the manual trans sorted out 2420$ and then the other problems came out that i never noticed.
most my focus before was driving in a way so not to upset the trans.

I'm to tall for the car I have to duck to see stop light, stop signs read road signs. feels like im just driving a tank, but as of recent I've been noticing a lot of pain in my clutch leg traffic is getting to be a chore vs having fun downshifting and rolling the gears. t

the seat has been causing my back injury i got 5 years ago to just hurt when driving, after a long day welding and lifting this F$%king sucks to drive home when its irritating my back, I have to slouch to drive or hit my head on the roof and crick my neck.

I've done all the major service needed including while the trans was out the rear main seal was done. just moving on to the polish and cleaning and once the title some in the mail off it goes to carvania

also work i need something with more useful then 2 doors and a joke of a trunk opening for materials and gear.

been a interesting journey
best wishes.

Sounds like it's time for a good Pick-up! I'm a brand loyalist (aka sucker!) so maybe a '99-'05 GM 1500 with an LS based V8 will give you the space you need and you can still do a few engine upgrades for more HP.

Drove it like Ricky Bobby and were surprised when your transmission made of unbreakyum actually broke.
Color me surprised.

And apparently you grew after test driving the car?
Again, complete surprise.

You sound like a potential BMW guy.

was pretty much thinking camry late 90s early 2000s, maybe a lexus LS400 with the 1uz V8 in it. might go back to a crown vic with the 4.6 under the hood.

possible Honda CRV 1st gen they got some sick air ride kits now for them form Truehart Air Suspension. there bag over coil so the adjustability would be nice to dial in a smooth ride. there's a few 90s accord wagons popping up.

being in California there is always 300d turbo diesels from Mercedes with the 5 bangers converted to run on cooking oil mix.

i took a 1518 mile cross-country ride in the 5th gen, to Irving Texas was a lot of fun for a last send off ride. I need MPGs gas has hit 4.50$ a gallon in my area, and dumping the Camaro will get me 500$ extra in the bank across the board. i live in the city, so tax on congestion tax on being a gas guzzle. this was the 1st year i did not pay 800$ to register the car it was 320$ this year.

I just miss having a 4 door did not really like owning a 2 door as much as I thought, traffic and all the stop go stop go even the canyon roads are getting congested not a lot of places left to just cruise for a while and enjoy the road.

would be nice to not burn a whole quarter tank to work and back filling up every 4 days

really the novelty of a 2 door and being 6.8 foot tall and having to climb out the car and having to duck to see anything has gotten very very old very fast.

im more of a OBS fan then the newer trucks. never liked the newer style of them. or if I could find a good one a 80s suburban, also if i can find a good one id pick up a 88 f150 lariat extended cab and bed duel tanks with the 351 Cleveland EFI conversion kit. **** i miss the one i had a lot. that truck never let me down once and still had ice cold AC i don't even remember how many times the odometer rolled over. just kept ticking like a nice watch

nice box caprice would not be out of the question throw on one of those EFI kits and junk the old electronic carbs, those can be really reliable splice in the digital dash and the LED taillight kits swith over to the projector housing headlights and maybe some air suspension, got a tank that will last another 30 years with a nice ride. given i can weld pretty damn well I can save money by doing the work on the rear axel my self to mount it all up for the brackets.

ill be picking up a cheap bucket 4 banger FWD 4 door of some sort. with a decent trunk opening to move stuff around in. the size of the opening on the Camaro trunk is the problem. once in there there's a ton of room. getting stuff in is the problem. not at needing a truck level right now. i just need to haul welding supplies and some equipment around. given I just got out of trade school last September im still on the most basic equipment.

The truck for folks who don't really need a truck. Cheap for a new vehicle, fits tall people, excellent fuel economy. If you can find one, might be a good option.

You seem surprised that your Camaro wasn’t intended to be a work vehicle? Ive got a 2018 Sierra 2500HD that I daily because, well I need a truck.

Or lower your seat so you can see that red light.

I think the OP’s posts are meant to bait. Ok, I’ll take it...”I just miss having a 4 door...” I don’t think I have or will ever utter that statement. Similar to, ‘I just miss living in squalor under the overpass, in a drug induced haze, in the rain and going hungry for days on end.’
