Those who know, 304HP is NOT a lot for 3600 pound car. But it is plenty for most.
Actually, my 98 Corvette was only rated at 345HP, so I would say early 2000's.

Not only in base price, but slightly less for insurance and a crapton less for gas (won't need premium and the MPG is better). With the 2LT, my loan will only be 4 years (putting half down), and I'm 23 years old. I don't want to be in a crapton of debt so early in my life, and I think a 2LT/RS Camaro is a pretty kick** car for a 23 year old (or heck, for any age). I have the rest of my life to buy a V8 if I want one.

Anyone else tired of the V6 hate? :/

Juvenile male insecurity. (on the part of the 'haters')
Nothing more nor less.

That's the way it has always been with these cars and will always be...

If you enjoy your car...that's all that matters. If you bought your car to gain acceptance from someone else...you've got more problems than just having a v6 in a world of v6 haters. (I'm sure this isn't you, just making a statement about some of the buyers of this car-or any other "hot" car of the moment).

I appreciate that you were bright enough to know your limits on buying a car and have done the responsible thing. This is something that is decidely lacking in the world today!

Our '86 Corvette was at a whopping 235hp...

My '82 Firebird was at 205hp before Mecham got hold of it...

Gotta love the 80's!!!!

The V6 has more horsepower than my dad's 1994 Z28 and my 1997 Z28 which have 275 and 285 respectively. I have a manual V6 RS on order and can't wait for it to come in. I don't care that it's not a V8. Like many people have stated, it gets better mileage and it runs on regular gas. 304 horsepower is enough for my daily driver.

P.S. That 1980 Camaro had to be modified because there certainly wasn't a stock Camaro that had anywhere near 300 horsepower.

I now have both a v-6 2lt for my wife and my 2ss for me and we love both cars for our own reasons. I don't understand why you guys consider someone to be a hater if they don't agree with what you like. I guess everybody could be called a hater with that way of thinking.
Hate is a very nasty word.

NO........ and never looked back.!!!
Your car would have handled much better than the 427. Throw a curve at the end of a long straight stretch and see who wins. There is more to driving than just going fast in a straight line.

for u v6 owners that are pissed off about people chirping u. stop whinning seriously. u chose to by the v6 knowing people were gona rip on u. "v6" and "muscle car" should never come in the same sentence, i dont care if ur putting out 400hp from a v6 its not a muscle car.
v6 camaro owners propbly make fun of v6 mustang and challanger owners. i make fun of v6 muscle car drivers and i drive a POS mazda.
now if u have a v6 as your daily and a beastly v8 as ur weekend warrior than ur not part of this rant

ciao

Maybe people in Kansas are more sensible. I've only met one moron who thought I should have gotten the V8 and I laughed as he climbed into his late 90'S Honda Accord as he left the gas station.

Everyone else is either neutral or impressed by my 2LT.

After 5,700 miles I am still loving every aspect of my car!

In your view than the turbocharged V6 Buick Grand Nationals and GNX's of the late 80's are not muscle cars?????? I'm sure there are a lot of people who would disagree with you. They were known to blow the doors off a lot of so called muscle cars.

Yea, and what about the 89 trans am turbo v-6 pace car. It was faster than any other trans am up until that time including big blocks. you need to think before you speak.
